Was anyone surprised by Sam Darnold committing to USC? Two 2015 Elite 11 quarterbacks on the same team? And Max Browne just ahead of them. Duke or Northwestern would have made a lot more sense for Darnold. Francois is now the only one left standing(Auburn or Florida State). There is a quarterback with a unique predicament, the kid from Cass Technical, but he's sitting in jail. Programs in need of a quarterback will be forced to poach.

I was. I thought Duke would be a good choice since they have a few other really solid pieces on offense and need a QB. That said, apparently USC is his dream school and it was inevitable once they offered.

Don't believe Mike Farrell really know anything anymore but he has been doing it for a while, said Cleveland has the most impressive frame for a prospect of his age he has ever seen. 6'7 322 on 247.

I dare you to do the annual math on that. Gross.

I'm happy to see kids picking Duke where the 30 year ROI is 4x higher than some schools in the region at $1,246,705.

I too enjoy seeing Duke do well. Sure they'll probably land some kid we want at some point but I don't see that being any more frequent than Northwestern getting a kid like Odenigbo a couple years ago. They are more a threat to schools middle tier schools like Arizona State (Rosene, Petite and Humphreys all had ASU offers) or Georgia Tech (they have like 5 commits from GA). Much like Kentucky snatching up solid Ohio recruits, Duke has targeted Cali and Georgia.

I never know when a JUCO commits somewhere if that's for the impending season, or the next season.

Yes, I realize I can click on the link above and probably find out.

But we hear and see a lot about JUCO's all the time following crootin' nowadays. It's often left less than clear what this means in regards to numbers, depth, impact, etc. for which season.

Best recruiter in the history of college football. Weight room, facilitates, coaching staff, SEC. Also winning helps get recruits (look at our 2012 class). But of course Saban has all of that.
