Hey everybody,

Had a great weekend, the rain sucked but at least it went away at game time.

The field was destroyed, it made a bigtime issue on of D-line, when they would come back to the sidelines they all said they couldn't get any grip, slipping and sliding.

All the players were complaining about Navy's blocking, saying these guys are just trying to hurt us.

At halftime Kelly was pretty pissed off about the field conditions and after the game he got purple faced while talking to Jack about it... Jack just kept saying it's gonna be taken care of,whatever that means, we won't know til the offseason.

Everyone already knows about the injuries but mostly everybody got dinged up....

Rabasa being moved back ton OLB (again)

Would be shocked if Tuitt isnt back next year...

Would be shocked if G.Bryant is back next season

Offense/Defense hate the surface and said something has to get done.

Everybody in the in the room really believe's they will win out.

Troy Nicklas will be a 1st round pick whenever he leaves

Folston is a beast and IMO will get the heavy reps from now on.

IMO GA3 knows his time as a RB is running out, was not happy after the game

Kelly was not happy with Diaco, argued at halftime and after the game.

P.S. Anybody that thinks we can get someone better than Kelly or doesnt think he's good enough for this team better go cheer for someone else because he's not going anywere unless he chooses to leave us. We are Blessed to have him as our coach. How easy people forget the last 20 years, we have "sucked" for the last 20 years. Yea we had a good one here and there but then were brought back to reality the next season. Kelly has gotten us better every year. Bringing in the right recruits, has a great coaching staff. Fans forget sometimes how hard it is to win at ND, it's the hardest job in the NCAA. Just think about it for a second. Finding studs that can hang with the best teams in the country, then getting them come to Northern Indiana, telling hey, you have to take really hard classes and pass them. Yes it does snow and there isn't much to do here. How does that sound when your 17 and your probably leaving home for the first time. Thats what these guys are up against and there winning. Yes we lose some guys every year but you know what, expect it. 17 year olds kids away from home for the first time, it's gonna happen and shame on you guys that rip these kids, do you remember being 17, alot of you sound like you dont.
Calling them idiots because they won't get a ND degree. Now some of you may need to sit down for this so i'll give you a second................... ND is not the only school that can help you become a good man and land a great job. ND is not for everybody. The ones the rag the hardest on these kids are the ones that have never been in there shoes. Let me tell you something, being 17 years and having to make a decision that will effect the rest of your life is hard enough when you have great parents, alot of these kids have nobody. Remember that...

We have a QB that would probably not be the best QB in a Flag Football league(jk i love tommy) and we have 7 wins and 2 loses. What do you think this teams record would be with Weis and his staff.
Kelly is getting it done, he fixed 20 years of crap in 3 years. And next years offense is going to be fun and exciting to watch. Defense will probably go back to a 4-3 whichl we run all the time anyway. We are back to being a pretty damn good football team that wins the games we use to lose in the past, that was step 1. Now its consistanly beating the good teams, that's step 2 and so far so good, its a work in progress. Step 3 will be being a top 5 team consistanly which we are not far from.

Be happy with what we have, Or do you rather go back to losing games like the one this past saturday.

I know everything is hearsay at this point, but I would gladly trade Greg Bryant for one more year of Tuitt.

Yes, I understand the two are mutually exclusive.

Thanks for the summary! Couple quick follow ups if you don't mind:

1) Why so sure Tuitt will stay?
2) Why so sure Bryant will leave?

Would be shocked if G.Bryant is back next season

After they've watched the game film, I'd be shocked if G. B., G.A., and Carlisle weren't all looking at greener pastures.

I love Kelly getting purple faced with Jack and arguing with Diaco. Nobody is safe!

GA3 was not happy?

He had a long TD run and had 7 carries... he's been averaging only about 8.5 a game.

I know every running back wants more carries, but until someone actually grabs a firm hold as the No.1 RB, split carries is what he'll get.

Not to mention the jab he took at Jack during the AFA post-game presser regarding the front loaded schedule and getting freshmen early PT. I am all in with Kelly.I hope the field gets fixed.

On Tuitt, just his body language and how he kept saying all the things he thinks he needs to improve on before the next level. Kept saying that he is excited about next years team...
just sounded like someone that plans on being here...

On Bryant, just the opposite. Talking to him he didnt sound right/happy. Didnt want to talk about this year or next. While talking to him he said that it's been hard on him this year not playing and then he said i might not play 2 more years.... (red flag)

So it's 100% but sounds like someone who has put some serious thought to it.

when i asked some guys about it they said "oh that dudes gone"

I know. I love how much Kelly hates to lose. After a loss, he can't even be civil, as evidenced by his rudeness to Alex Flanagan after the OU game ("Well, if you were watching the game, Alex ..."). Well, I guess that maybe takes it too far and is borderline classless, but stuff like him arguing with Jack and Diaco shows you how bad he wants to win and how he demands everyone's best.

The coaches have told him exactly what he has to do and when he does it, it works. When he does not do it, well, it does not work.

Carlisle has played himself out of the rotation after the Navy game, IMO. He had two opportunities and did nothing with them.

Folston and Cam are 1a and 1b.

damn, I missed that one. Kelly is definitely calculated in what he says, always the politician working angles.

That last line about what teammates are saying almost makes it sound like he is a bit of an outcast from the team already and not too close to them. Hope he turns it around and sticks, would be great for the future backfield.

I gotta draw the line with that one. The rest are free game.

Yes. His questions appear rehearsed and concise. With the early PT question for young guys....it was more his initial reaction and then the press core's reaction right after. IDK if it was intentional, but it was very telling regardless (to paraphrase Brother Bluth).

Tuitt would be an absolute monster get if he stayed one more year. Probably could be the difference in one or two more wins next season. I've always thought one more year could get him a top 10 pick. He's an absolute game changer when he's in shape and feeling well.

I have never felt so small in my life than when i was standing next to Tuitt and Niklas....

I agree completely. Tuitt would make a huge difference in next year's team by staying.

Thanks for the update Irishfan33 - good stuff.

Unless the Irish has someone step up at ILB, I can see Tuitt getting double teamed a lot. A healthy S. Day would help take some of the pressure off him but the presence of a good ILB would be better.

I thought Grace was doing a good job before getting injured, hopefully he can pick up right where he left off. I think one of Deeb, Moore, and Rondolph will emerge next year as well.

At this point, anything will be an upgrade over Calobrese/Fox

I am really counting on Grace coming back next year and being ready to go. I thought he was making good progress before his injury. I also see MDeeb being a very good ILB. That kid was made to play football.

I do agree that Tuitt will need help, but I think he makes a huge difference in this defense when he comes back.

Without a doubt. Even if he does see double teams all year, it will open things up for Day and Williams. Him coming back is up there with Golson coming back in terms of direct correlation to team success.

I agree about Grace. He was making improvement game over game. I hated seeing him go down.
