Sorry guys, going to have to clean up those last few posts. As a rule of thumb, if you have something you can share then post it. If you can't share it, put it in a PM.

Leaving ambiguous and potentially inflammatory posts out there because you're using your discretion not to share something only creates unease, panic, and conflict on the board.

Agreed, thanks Lax. That was my point irishfan33, I think its best not to share at all instead of making a veiled post in a situation like that.

perhaps Gb was told 2 senior RB's were off to the NFL and presumed playing time would come easy?

I guess that's my point though from my last post. That playing time would come easy IS a deceiving recruiting tactic. I don't assume that's how our coaches recruit, but instead, believe they stress the opportunity for a recruit with considerable talents to seize the starting spot. I could be naive on this one, but I'd side more with the notion of a teenager realizing that it's going to be tougher than initially perceived to be the man.

But we delete posts that aren't inflammatory, but politely ask the poster to expound upon how he came across his information?

I only deleted your post because it quoted the post I had just deleted.

yes you have to believe a ND coach would never promise a recruit anything other than the opportunity to compete. I do hope Greg sticks it out, he just has to look at Aaron Lynch and others to see what can happen if you dont stay the course at ND.

If he is in the position he says he is in, then I highly doubt the staff would appreciate him making some of these comments on a public forum.

Conversations between Jack/BK, Player sideline dialogue and insuniations of recruiting tactics are all things that he probably should have kept to himself. Just sayin'...

I'll be completely honest- I thought Folston was a better player than Bryant. I know others here believed that too.
didn't GBs parents come out and say that greg is staying and didn't GB himself come out and say he's staying. right now I have no reason to believe other wise. yes im sure he wishes he was playing but next year folston and Bryant are going to dominate the running game.

also I think GB is the better RB, he was the best RB in florida his junior year in HS.

With Alex Collins, Derrick Henry, and Kelvin Taylor?

Do remember that Derrick Henry broke the national rushing record..

Greg had a great junior year, but arguably, those three had monster junior seasons.

It's not entirely their fault. It's kind of a ridiculous job (at least the on-camera part of it. They also do a lot of work gathering info on injuries, etc. and feeding it to the crew calling the game). The coaches have no incentive at all to say anything of interest, especially at halftime.
I'd credit the first network to do away with in-game interviews, or to send a Mike-Mayock-quality color guy down there for the postgame. But the trend seems to be moving in the other direction and now we're talking to managers in the dugout in the 4th inning.

But back to the OP. Glad to hear these guys believe they'll win out. That's at least half the battle.

I didn't mean for it to sound as if I hated the reporters themselves. Most of them do their job well. It's the job itself that I do not care for. It is very rare that they add anythning to the telecast for me. The only time they are useful is when there is an injury they can report on or when there is some sort of confrontation on a sideline and they can give some insight to what happened.

I agree with this. I would love it if the producers would minimize the roles of the sideline reporters so they are just reporting on injuries and other sideline happenings. I do not need or want to hear the coaches and players bullshit at the end of each half. They never almost never say anything interesting in those off-the-cuff remarks.
