People are having a hard time understanding that a fictionalized account about child trafficking made by Qanon affiliated kooks isn’t propaganda? Huh.

Anyhow, I watched Kindergarten Cop last weekend and the original Conan the Barbarian. Arnold has better range than people give him credit for.

More like having a hard time understanding how a fictionalized QAnon tie in is enough to make you brainwashed dolts fight the idea of standing against sex slavers,… and it’s not fiction you fucking moron.

I’m sorry but if this keeps getting thrown out by idiots on this thread it deserves to be called what it is

I’m having a hard time believing that many of you on the right actually care about sex trafficking considering so many at the border trying to enter our country are doing so to escape sex traffickers. And we know how you feel about that.

LOL. So you are arguing that an open border is better approach overall to combat the issue of child/sex trafficking???????

News flash ace, all movies are “fiction” to a certain extent. Some more so than others.

Is this a terrible issue? Yes.

Are Tim Ballard and Caviezel conspiracy minded kooks? Sure seems like it.

I’m sure that had no bearing though on how they decided to frame this issue, present the events and how they occurred and or how best to address this issue in the writing and making of this particular film.

What part of the movie do you think was framed in a peculiar way that is consistent with any conspiracy issues?

The only conspiracy minded kooks that I see are those who apparently have MAJOR ISSUE with a totally non partisan movie about fighting sex slavery. Especially when, to this point, those (at least in this thread) who do have admitted to not even having seen it.

I also have to love how after droning on for days about how it’s all fake news and conspiracies there’s now an attempt to suddenly state it’s all very real as long as we can use it as a case to open the borders. Talk about kooky.

This is getting infuriating,… I have two daughters and have experienced very real threats to both. I tend to take anyone saying this mess is fake or propaganda pretty personal. So far as I can tell having seen the movie before any of this shit blew up on any level this is my summation:

Movie about real events: ‘Child sex slavery is especially bad, maybe it deserves some attention and action.’

Media Kooks and otherwise (after watching every freaking film over the last ten years be littered with actors with bullshit political hot takes and conspiracies and framing issues without even blinking) : ‘I heard some right winger is involved in this movie, fuck all that. In fact, it’s not even real. Conspiracy!’

Who said sex trafficking wasn’t real? Quote them.

Not a movie, but "Jury Duty" on Amazon expires in 8 days and is the funniest thing my wife and I have seen in 5 years.

Quick watch too, highly recommend.
I watched as well. Hilarious.

Haven't seen the movie. Actors are weird. Jim's twitter this week is bananas, dude should probably be in a mental ward. Makes me think the movie is pretty cool and based.

Sounds like the plot is some dude going after traffickers and saving kids? If so, very cool. If there was a dude who did something in that ballpark IRL...very cool. People be getting all worked up about it.

Hey look, another person who hasn't seen the movie, but knows all about the movie.

I challenge you to see the movie yourself and realize how wrong you are. My guess is you won't. Caviezel's conspiracy theories have nothing to do with the movie. They didn't take many liberties with the story, and what they did was pretty minimal for story telling purposes. It didn't change the arc overall.

Full disclosure, I’ve had you on ignore for years but decided to show your content today as it became clear you’ve been responding to me. It reminded me why I ignored you to begin with.

However I’ll reply to you this one time in good faith: a movie with no spin or agenda aside from, ‘child sex slavery is happening, it’s horrible, let’s stand up against it’ has been attacked directly and through linked articles as a conspiracy, QAnon, a film for people with brain bleeds, propaganda, dangerous etc,… having seen the film and knowing its central focus, how the hell is anyone supposed to take the vitriol you and others keep spewing into this thread as anything other than the bolded. Now go with God

Wait till he finds out that the movie shows actual footage from the trafficking raid the movie was based on.

I dont really understand what peoples problems are with who made the movie. Do they have the same problem with Roman Polanski movies? Woody Allen? Tom Cruise movies? These guys and many others have serious problems.

There are at least 700,000 slaves in Africa as I type this. Many are sex slaves. Many are child soldiers being forced to fight. The world doesn't give a shit. If this movie raises awareness about the subject of trafficking then I'm all for it.

If you're curious what wasn't true in the film, here's a decent break down. There were just a few points changed, I'll highlight them in spoilers. You can see what was true (Which was most of it) in the link, and most of the changes were minimal and didn't affect the overall story:

1. Tim Ballard kills just one man in the film and went in to the rebel territory by himself. In real life Ballard doesn't kill the guy and he didn't go in alone, but the raid did happen and the ruse they used to infiltrate the rebel group was real.
2. Some of the methods depicted in the film for the capture/transport of the kids were uncommon, but the security footage section showing kids being abducted were all live accounts and true.
3. Ballard was at first hesitant to quit his job in real life to save the kids, but his wife convinced him it was the right thing. For story telling purposes they cut this hesitancy out.

I wouldn’t take it personal considering your audience. Dude lives on internet message boards just trying to get folks worked up. That’s what he does all day. We all need hobbies, his is just from mom’s basement.

I, for one, do have problems with certain actors, directors, etc. and I choose not to support their work because of that.

All I did was point out the fact that valid criticisms have been made about some of the things in the movie and adjacent to the movie. It doesn’t mean everyone has to agree with the criticisms and it doesn’t mean the criticisms should overshadow the overall message of the movie.

I’m really sick of talking about it.
