Movies you just saw

[GATTACA!]

Just saw Rise of Skywalker,... geez,... this trilogy was the exact opposite of the prequels. Episode 1-3 were terribly acted at times, had bad special effects that aged terribly but had generally good (enough) stories. These films were better casted, had better cinematography but the story telling was fucking awful. On whole the three just had such a strong, ‘make it up as we go, it Star Wars, it’ll make money,... whatever’ lazy feel to them ,... I’ll basically ignore these three for the rest of my life. Don’t think I’ll watch another again, certainly not by choice.

At least Wedge made a two second cameo without dying in the next scene,... that was cool I guess.


Honest question, is Solo worth watching??? RealStarwars v ThisBullshit,... which is it more??

I thought RoS was alright. Probably the best JJ could do with the steaming garbage pile Rian left him with after TLJ. I think this trilogy was a sloppy mess, and it's unbelievable that they went into it without a clear 3 story arc. I think they were hampered by the fact that they knew they had to include the old guard in these movies, but knew they were already too old to run with any of the classic EU stories like Thrawn.

I think these three are still light years ahead of the prequels. As you mentioned the prequels had bad effects, bad writing, bad acting, but worst of all they're BORING. Trade federation political negotiations are not what I want out of Star Wars. For all their faults at least the sequel trilogy can be enjoyed on the same level as the F&F movies where there's lots of explosions and action. They also feel like Star Wars even if it's superficial. The prequels have none of those redeeming qualities.

I thought Solo was much better than I was expecting. Based on the trailers I thought Alden Ehrenreich was going to be distractingly bad, but after a few minutes my brain adjusted and he's honestly fine as a young Han. Emilia Clarke is a babe too so that gets bonus points for me right off the bat.

I think if Solo wasn't released so close after TLJ it would have preformed fine at the box office and wouldn't be viewed as a bomb.

SNL guy. Still watch it. Will never come close to the early days, but still watchable.


Watched Molly's Game with Jessica Chastain. True story about a former member of the US Ski Team that quits competing and ends up running high stakes poker games with well known celebrities like DeCaprio, Damon , Affleck, russian mobsters and gets arrested by the FBI. Pretty entertaining IMO.

He visits the home of a wealthy older man who's somehow connected to the murders and meets the man's extremely beautiful wife. The gist of the story is that the husband turns all his wife's lovers into miniature figurines who are still able to see and hear, but not move. It was a good movie, but for the life of me I can't remember the name nor find it with Google. Anybody know which film I'm talking about? I don't think it's very old... probably only about 5-10 years old.

I would say look on the Bollywood sight but sounds alot like HER.

I didn't remember much about it other than the basic plot and that it was Indian. I thought it was a full length movie, but obviously not. It's on YouTube in its entirety. It's quite good and well worth the watch. The actress in the film is beautiful.

MCOB has a lot of Indian students, so we used to eat Indian lunch-buffet and watch Bollywood movies weekly. The amount of drop-dead gorgeous actresses is amazing.

I had the same thought. Oahu said it reminded him of Tales From The Crypt. Interesting story and apparently loosely based on an Indian Mythology tale.
