I think Freeman has done enough to earn everyone's trust in who he promotes/hires/retains. He's done a helluva job and his coaches are often moving up in the world when they leave. If he didn't feel confident in giving it to Mickens, I trust he has a plan to further his development in the program and contingency plans for when he/coaches decide to take another opportunity.
This hand-wringing bullshit is tiring. I love Mickens and I think his talent evaluation/development is nearly unparalleled in the secondary but again, I default to Freeman.
