That’s just how it’s going to be unless we join a conference. Good teams aren’t going to reliably schedule us in the middle or tail end of the season when they’re in the thick of conference play. They lost the turnover battle and got ass smacked in the middle 8 and still barely lost,… that would be a good thing but our scheduling leaves zero error over the next month or the entire season is lost. THAT needs WAY more focus than the playcalling or whatever,… wtf are we doing, no one plays two top 15 teams and another good sec team in the first month of the season. It’s idiotic
I totally missed this. Yikes.Down the stretch Prescott was playing LT. Apperantly Knapp limped off at one point in the 4th qtr
I don’t see how Knapp / Wagner can hold up against top teams, they are both undersized for the position. Bain is a uniquely big DE but still they were getting just abused.
Then join a conference or drop a tough game or two,… Nebraska built a whole dynasty on playing two teams with a pulse EVERY season and no one cared,…That’s just how it’s going to be unless we join a conference. Good teams aren’t going to reliably schedule us in the middle or tail end of the season when they’re in the thick of conference play.
It's negative thinking but one captain who doesn't play in Pauling and one who sucks in Hinish might show this team not having the leadership needed.Cannot unsee how awful hinish is. Whenever he was in we had zero ability to stop the run and the qb had zero pressure. He looked like a hs lineman. How was he playing? How did the coaches allow that guy to playlet alone be captain?
Considering he didn't even play a competitive snap in close to an hour of actual time too is comedy to me.The left tackle being unable to handle 80 and humid is a disgrace. I can't get over that. You are a professional athlete.
We could have scheduled whoever we wanted instead of A&M and Arkansas. It isn't about being in a conference. That’s just how it’s going to be unless we join a conference. Good teams aren’t going to reliably schedule us in the middle or tail end of the season when they’re in the thick of conference play.
The front 7 allowed 3.5 ypc against potentially the best OL in the country. I’m not gonna shit on them For that performance despite the rough start.
That being said… Hinish can not see the field in big games outside of obvious passing downs.
Overall, I was thrilled with CJ, but I'm gonna call that throw dumb as fuck.If the INT was indicative of the picks CJ was supposedly throwing in camp, no wonder the staff wasn't worried about it.
Mid October but he's swimming with sharks and driving Formula One around then too so who knows. When’s Jagusah supposed to come back?
Take a breather. It was one game on the road in a swamp against an experienced QB who played well. There is plenty to improve. Not making a bowl? Get out of hereComplete disappointment from the coaches, the defense, & the offensive line. Not making a bowl could be a reality, missing the playoffs is more than likely. We just aren’t the team we thought we were going to be, & once again Freeman (and his staff)!as much as I respect the man isn’t the coach that can win us a national championship. He’s slightly better than Kelly. Embrace a perennial bid in the pop tart & sun bowls because that’s what we are.
I really think that guys respond to confidence, and when your game plan is "we're scared to do anything except throw the ball to the flats" I dunno how you expect to be successful. I am truly shocked that was what Denbrock showed up with. I thought he might keep the training wheels on Carr, but I thought if he did it would mean giving Price and Love 20+ carries each.Thoughts:
- We came out looking dead. Like a fighter who gets punched in the face and doesn't know what to do
- I don't even know where to begin with the offensive game plan for most of the game. Not pushing the ball down the field, hardly utilizing one of the best players in college football. That interception was so obvious the moment the ball was snapped. I put a ton of blame on Denbrock for this loss
- We were poor up the middle of the defense. I think both the interior D-line and linebackers had a poor showing
- O-line was gassed at the end and it showed.
- I am extremely disappointed in all of the captains and their play. Shuler is to blame for that touchdown right before the end of the half. He looked like he was trying to catch a punt instead of attacking the ball. Pauling wasn't really targeted. Schrauth and Wagner got beat numerous times. Hinish battled but is too small. Bowen seemed to get pushed around
- It's early. We have a QB who is a stud and will battle. I don't think we lose to Texas A&M with the bye
Wouldn’t be surprised if it happens. In my nervousness I compared this season to 2016, how did 2016 begin? A heartbreaker that we should’ve won because of bad defense, bad o-line, & bad coaching.Take a breather. It was one game on the road in a swamp against an experienced QB who played well. There is plenty to improve. Not making a bowl? Get out of here
Why shocked?? It’s been a piss myself high school offense since he got here…. What game did he just open it up from the start and keep the pedal down?I really think that guys respond to confidence, and when your game plan is "we're scared to do anything except throw the ball to the flats" I dunno how you expect to be successful. I am truly shocked that was what Denbrock showed up with. I thought he might keep the training wheels on Carr, but I thought if he did it would mean giving Price and Love 20+ carries each.
Lambert played the first half but not the second. Maybe he needs to acclimate to the game but he's got the tools to hold down tackle in a way Knapp just doesn't.Knapp is a guard. We have five star tackles, why aren't they playing?
