I find it hilarious that tOSU fans think their academics are on par with ND. I actually responded to a few of these idiots last night. Sure, you can get a great education at tOSU, no question. Lets look at the facts though...Payscale.com has ND ranked #28th in the nation when it comes to a bachelor's degree. An OSU degree is ranked #359th! On average an ND alum starts off making $13k more a year, and by mid career they're pulling in an extra $40k more /year. That's a lot of extra green over a lifetime.

It certainly felt like he was playing the wrong linebacker position last year but that's an eyebrow raiser for sure.

The one negative takeaway for me is that Avery Davis has a similar timetable as Diggs ("September-ish") which has me wondering if he'll be available for OSU

Freeman's Q & A with Sampson at The Athletic was very good. He comes across as so measured, genuine and authentic. I hope he never loses it. Few guys have "it" anymore. They all turn out to be frauds who let you down in the end because they're nothing they portrayed themselves to be.

Freeman seems far more capable now than Bob Davie was when he was hired as far as I'm concerned, and there are certain parallels we can draw to their hires. He's young enough and intelligent enough right now that he's not stuck in his ways and is open to learning things. He even tells Sampson he's big on feedback. He seeks out advice from others.

The recruiting right now is on fire and the vibes around the program are extremely high right now. Like you I hope they can make the coaching as good as the other 2 categories.

Kelly would get kids to commit then get lazy and only reach out to them every month or couple times a month. Or Kelly wouldn't be involved in recruiting any kids he would just show up at in homes last minute to recruit when needed, this has cost us many high ranking guys over the years. One guy in particular we lost was Thomas Graham who went to oregon. Freeman is making contact with all these guys a few times a week if not every other day just to talk about life and whatever else.

Coach Freeman is winning over recruits. If he can turn the fan base from doubters to believers, the opportunity for something special is around the corner.

I think a decade is more realistic. He's gonna burn himself out eventually with the amount of work he's putting in, regardless of success.

If he ends up coaching as well as he recruits, the job will definitely become a little easier. He strikes me as the type who will stay after it, but if you build something like Saban has at Bama, recruiting becomes a hell of a lot easier. Saban is still going strong no doubt, but at a certain point your success starts to recruit for you.

I think right now Rees would for sure be in that category had he not hooked Carr in the 2024 class, especially after he went all-in on Dante and whiffed.

Rees almost surely did not make that decision alone. Also, by all accounts at the time, the continuity that Rees provided was very important to Freeman taking the job (and the administration going with Freeman as opposed to someone with HC experience). Rees gets at least a year. Then we'll see.

To me the bigger question is can Rees develop Buchner into a top-tier QB? Do that and I suspect you'll find recruiting gets easier as well. Especially with the talent piling up everywhere else on this roster.

I think we are going to see a total difference offense under Freeman. With BK I think he had Rees on a leash and only let him go so far.

How many times did we hear Kelly say this player is doing good, you're going to see him play, and that player saw no time.

Freeman will give Rees more freedom to run the offense.

Agree, we really need to run tempo at times and not sure how you do that with our depth

Neither am I. I’ve always gotten slightly shorter Deion Walker vibes from him. Apparently UGA didn’t put up much of a fight to keep him home.

BK's philosophy was to limit mistakes and let the other team beat themselves. That's a big reason he rarely played freshmen and sophomores IMO. If they did play and made a mistake that were quickly pulled. I gut feeling is MF is going to play more of the youngsters and let them go through the growing pains.
