Seems like MFMF got under someone’s skin
Yeah but why use facts and logic when emotional sensitivity and anxiety are most important?I find it hilarious that tOSU fans think their academics are on par with ND. I actually responded to a few of these idiots last night. Sure, you can get a great education at tOSU, no question. Lets look at the facts though...Payscale.com has ND ranked #28th in the nation when it comes to a bachelor's degree. An OSU degree is ranked #359th! On average an ND alum starts off making $13k more a year, and by mid career they're pulling in an extra $40k more /year. That's a lot of extra green over a lifetime.
It certainly felt like he was playing the wrong linebacker position last year but that's an eyebrow raiser for sure. And, more love Jaden Mickey.
He also called Bertrand one of the best 3 at position group that has a lot of talent and depth. So, maybe he isn’t getting pushed down the depth chart. I guess we’ll have to see.
Freeman's Q & A with Sampson at The Athletic was very good. He comes across as so measured, genuine and authentic. I hope he never loses it. Few guys have "it" anymore. They all turn out to be frauds who let you down in the end because they're nothing they portrayed themselves to be.
Freeman seems far more capable now than Bob Davie was when he was hired as far as I'm concerned, and there are certain parallels we can draw to their hires. He's young enough and intelligent enough right now that he's not stuck in his ways and is open to learning things. He even tells Sampson he's big on feedback. He seeks out advice from others.
I know, it's the hope that kills you. LOL
Watching commit after commit roll in...
If MF, Chansi, and Al can coach even half as good as they can recruit, they are going to do shit at Notre Dame that hasn't been done during my lifetime.
Kelly would get kids to commit then get lazy and only reach out to them every month or couple times a month. Or Kelly wouldn't be involved in recruiting any kids he would just show up at in homes last minute to recruit when needed, this has cost us many high ranking guys over the years. One guy in particular we lost was Thomas Graham who went to oregon. Freeman is making contact with all these guys a few times a week if not every other day just to talk about life and whatever else.I posted this in a recruits thread, but I'm now convinced Kelly either thought recruiting was beneath him or he was just lazy when it came to recruiting.
“Some men see things as they are, and ask why. I dream of things that never were, and ask why not.”
I think a decade is more realistic. He's gonna burn himself out eventually with the amount of work he's putting in, regardless of success. If Freeman's actual coaching is even half as impressive as his recruiting...it's gonna be a fun decade or two.
If he ends up coaching as well as he recruits, the job will definitely become a little easier. He strikes me as the type who will stay after it, but if you build something like Saban has at Bama, recruiting becomes a hell of a lot easier. Saban is still going strong no doubt, but at a certain point your success starts to recruit for you.I think a decade is more realistic. He's gonna burn himself out eventually with the amount of work he's putting in, regardless of success.
Yup. The good ones here always end up burning themselves out...or dying in a plane crash.I think a decade is more realistic. He's gonna burn himself out eventually with the amount of work he's putting in, regardless of success.
I think right now Rees would for sure be in that category had he not hooked Carr in the 2024 class, especially after he went all-in on Dante and whiffed.I think Coach Freeman has the longevity to last here a very long time. His main focus is recruiting and is clearly a CEO type coach already. That's the key: concentrate on building great relationships with your players, recruit, be the face of the program, and delicate the coaching to a great staff. He can put his stamp on the defense and sit in the offensive meetings, but he's got to let his coaches coach.
Of course he needs to be on their butts when they aren't doing a good job and be ready to make the hard choices if a coach isn't working out. The players will run through a wall for him and once this talent starts seeing the field, it's going to be glorious.
I believe in Golden. No way we lose that lead in the bowl if he's coaching the defense. If Tyler is who we all hope he is, this team could make the playoffs. If he isn't they will still run over almost everyone now that Harry's back.
We're entering another golden age. Something that a lot of you have never seen out of this team before.
Rees almost surely did not make that decision alone. Also, by all accounts at the time, the continuity that Rees provided was very important to Freeman taking the job (and the administration going with Freeman as opposed to someone with HC experience). Rees gets at least a year. Then we'll see.I think right now Rees would for sure be in that category had he not hooked Carr in the 2024 class, especially after he went all-in on Dante and whiffed.
Agree, we really need to run tempo at times and not sure how you do that with our depthRees will likely be limited for at least another year, maybe two. I don't think we have the horses at WR, we'll probably be relying a lot on Mayer and the ground game this season. Twice we ran into issues last year with WR depth and stamina, Cinci and OSU. That's probably not going to get better this year, although I think our WRs could end up being more consistent especially if more young talent steps up quick.
Neither am I. I’ve always gotten slightly shorter Deion Walker vibes from him. Apparently UGA didn’t put up much of a fight to keep him home.Agree, we really need to run tempo at times and not sure how you do that with our depth
If any of styles lenzy Thomas colzie or merriweather get injured or are a bust we’re in trouble…. And I’m not high on colzie
BK's philosophy was to limit mistakes and let the other team beat themselves. That's a big reason he rarely played freshmen and sophomores IMO. If they did play and made a mistake that were quickly pulled. I gut feeling is MF is going to play more of the youngsters and let them go through the growing pains.Rees will likely be limited for at least another year, maybe two.
