Don't let the woman rustle your feathers gents..... she'll be back...

GO IRISH!!!!!!!!!!

Diz

More proof that women don't belong on football boards. Yeah, I said it.

And A&M fan is that like that buddy we all have that bangs fat chicks and then gets lucky one night and lands a decent looking girl....Then he can't let the sh*T go and reminds you of how many hot chicks he's landed.

Manziel, is their "hot chick" in the long, long line of fatties.

Question: If Aaron Murray tears up Bama in the SEC championship game, does that make Manziel look less impressive? Does that put a major damper on his heisman hopes?

The sports editor up here at The Idaho Statesman is voting Te'o. Said he loves Te'o and everything he's about. He thinks JM is going to win it though. I wouldn't be surprised if Te'o wins it with a lot of voters thinking the same as above. I wouldn't mind if JM won it though. I got over my Heisman frustration when Detmer won it.

The thought of voting against Te'o with everything he's done/dealt with is baffling imo.

I know I'm biased, but reward the good guys once in a while! College football needs a change of direction, and why not make Te'o that starting point of that change?

Regardless, Manti is going to be a finalist and for that I'm ecstatic.

It's possible. It's also possible that Murray having an amazing game against Alabama would result in some voters flipping from Teo to Murray.

Bigger question would be, if Murray has a great game does he steal more votes from Manziel or Manti?

Season a 'dream come true' for Texas A&M Aggies Johnny Manziel - ESPN

He also, for the first time, addressed his offseason arrest. In June he was charged with a trio of misdemeanors -- disorderly conduct, failure to identity and possessing a false identification card -- after being involved in a fight in the Northgate bar district.

"It was something that was a critical mistake in my life and something that I had to learn a lot from," he said. "It's something that had its consequences with Coach Sumlin, with my teammates and with everybody here in Aggieland. It was just a critical mistake on my part, and from that I've had to try to make changes in my life that revolve around that."

I wonder what the consequences were? He didn't miss any games did he? Probably had to stand up in front of the team and apologize.

Considering the context of consequences in relation to Sumlin, teammates and the fans. I can only assume "consequences" is being used to describe the way it impacted or hurt his relationship with all three segments.

There may have been discipline also, but I don't think that's what he was trying to describe in his quote.

Johnny Manziel probably wins Heisman, but he didn't make 2012 AFCA FBS Coaches' All-America Team. Tajh Boyd was QB picked.

Check this out:

Since you base offense on how much they score, you should base defense on how much the other team doesn't score.

Well, the Manti-led defense gave up an average of 10.3 points per game. If you take ND out of the opponents numbers, our combined opponents scored an average of 30 points per game.

So Manti's D saved ND 19.7 points a game, 236.4 points all year, or 34 TDs. Manziel scored 43 TDs and Manti stopped 34.

Kind of interesting when you look at it like that...

Now combine in the other stats. Manti's stats were average until you pull in a defensive stat that is pretty uncommon for LB's...INTs!

Manziel's passing stats were average until you pull in a quarterback stat that is pretty uncommon...Rushing stats.

Manti had average stats for his position, but for a DB (int stats) he's #2 in the country!!!!

Manziel had average stats for his position (passing), but as a RB he is only top 25 in one category...TDs (and even he doesn't lead that stat for QBs).

As long as its accurate, get that information out there.

Sooner fan here,

I personally believe Manti deserves the heisman. I was at the OU vs ND game and there was very little doubt that he was the best player on the field. This guy has put the team on his back all year long and has been a huge part at getting the Irish to the National Championship. I like listening to Mike Mayock when talking about evaluating talent. I remember a few years ago when USC had Rey Maualuga and Ohio State had Laurenitis. Every one was so high on Maualuga becasue of these big exciting plays. Mayock said that Laurenitis was a much better prospect, Laurenitis was always were he was supposed to be so his play looked less exciting. I believe Te'o is the same way. I've seen him 4-5 times this year and I tend to really watch him alone. He is never out of place. His shear strenght is impressive, his nose for the ball is second to none. Other than the interceptions, his play looks good but not spectacular to the guy that just flips on the TV to watch a game.. This is because he is always in the right place. This guy will be a great NFL player and I personally hope a national champion in 40 days. This is the battle that Te'o will face becasue Johnny football looks like he is making all these great plays, most of the time he is flying by the seat of his pants. I'm not saying Johnny Manzile isn't good, but he is no Te'o yet. Manti deserves this Heisman, but the voters are going to have to really watch this guy on film to truely understand what he does.

Please beat anyone from the SEC. For the first time in my life I will be rooting for the Irish and Mr. Te'o

Every Sooner fan who has posted here this year has been awesome. Welcome.

For what it's worth, I'm rooting for Texas to expose KSU (again), so you guys go to a BCS bowl.

Seriously...why couldn't Landry Jones have been the guy Manti goes up against for the Heisman? OU fans have been awesome, it would have been a nice debate. OU fans haven't been cool just this year, I'm going back to the last series we played 12 years ago and beyond that. Instead we're stuck with some A&M trolls, with Alabama trolls already knocking last week.

I think people are also forgetting that Alabama's D made Mettenberger look like an All-American.

As for not showing up big in the last few games, save the INT against USC... it's called gap responsibility. T'eo is there to guard his gap and clean up anything he can get to on the edges. He's not a QB, he doesn't get the ball every down. Teams are scheming around him at this point, identifying him every down pre-snap and he's still making plays. I've seen him miss one tackle this year, and that was in the backfield. Plus, you can't get INTs if you're not in position to make a play on the ball. The QBs aren't so bad that they're TRYING to hit T'eo in the numbers, we just have an elite pass rush and T'eo is reading the QBs very well.

If T'eo doesn't win, it would be a travesty. He's a once in a decade player.

Random thought: For those voters that place Manti first could help a little further by placing JM lower on their ballot. So if they have Manti 1 then put Klein 2 Barner 3 Lee 4.

I'm actually hoping Collin Klein has an amazing game against Texas.

My theory is that he can steal enough votes from Manziel. The people that want to vote for Manti will do it regardless of Klein. But the others could be persuaded to put Klein ahead of Manziel on their ballots.

Nothing against Johnny "Football" but @MTeo_5 should win the @HeismanTrophy for leading his team to an undefeated season! #CollegeFootball

Listening to Sports Animal radio here in Tulsa, OK area. Pat Jones former OSU coach of Barry Sanders and Thurman Thomas. He is talking up Manti. Better news is that two Heisman voters on the show with him are speaking strongly about Manti as the best candidate as well. The basis for their reasoning was Notre Dame is 12-0 and playing for National Title. The reason they are undefeated is their defense. The heart and anchor the defense is Manti, not to metion his 7 picks.

The two voters were Al Jerkins (KJRH) and Jimmie Tramel (Tulsa World).

Nice to get some reps from Magic.

Even nicer to see this, coming from those that get to vote.
