Soon-to-be 8th grader Dylan Moses offered LSU Tigers scholarship - ESPN

This is crazy but look at the numbers. Kid's name is Dylan Moses, he is 14, and in the Class of '17.

"I was kind of shocked when I first heard it -- it was a dream come true," Moses, 14, said. "I've always wanted to play for LSU since I was a kid, and now it's coming true in front of my eyes."

His workout numbers certainly don't reflect that youth. In addition to the blistering 40 time [4.46], the 6-foot, 205-pound middle schooler posted a broad jump of 9 feet, 3 inches and a 34-inch vertical leap. Impressive as they were, the latter two weren't so surprising to his father.

"I already knew that he could jump the 34-inch vertical, and we were actually working toward 9 feet in the broad jump. I didn't think it was going to come then, but I felt it coming," Edward Moses said. "The 40 -- that blew me away. I wasn't expecting a 4.46 40-yard dash."

Can we say LSU lock?

Washington accepted a commitment today from a 14 year old, 8th grade QB. Crazy to me. I just don't get it.

I think it should regulated that scholarship offers for football cannot be extended until after your first high school football season. That just seems logical to me. The NCAA? That's a whole other form of logic there.

You should be entering high school when 14... I'd love to know when this cat's birthday is.

The NCAA needs to step in and limit offering of scholarships until at least to the start of someone's sophmore season. This is just ridiculous.

Is it too early to offer Floyd and Teo's future first born sons?

This is so, so creepy. I feel gross just reading about it. Coaches shouldn't be talking to middle school kids unless it's at a camp.

Even the coaches that are coaching them? Coaches shouldn't talk/instruct their kids unless they just happen to show up at a camp together by chance and then it's ok to talk/instruct them? Just trying to get a base line as to how creepy it really is.

What do you think these a-holes that coach AAU are doing? I don't see that as any different but most think they're getting kids exposure at the highest level. I think it's crap.
