It’s not a conservative value to want to be recognized for merit. It’s a human value. Honoring and respecting culture in the manner in which you choose to is also a human value. Coach Ivey stating she is a “visual rep of what is possible” is as merit based as it is culturally based.

People don’t have to be opposed to those things just because they don’t fit your narrative. The other side of that is those programs give disadvantaged individuals that would normally qualify but are not considered do to qualifications outside of their control. There fore those programs actually help people to achieve those merits they would not typically be considered for, based on sex, religion, genealogy. All this is to say if you actually look at the statistics and the make up of the demographics you actually see racism and sexism woven into our society, and most other societies, or you are of the opinion that all are less then white males and therefore that makes up for the disparity in all statistical demographics.

I'm not sure how you can honestly say "pro-obesity" when you look at the obesity rates of states and which way they vote . It's not always "living in a bubble" just because someone doesn't have the same thoughts as you and is actually an important part of critical thinking. The extremes on both sides are ridiculous right now but not a reflection of the population as a whole, despite what we hear 24/7 (assuming Russia or China helps with that).

My brother met Lou Holtz a few years ago and he seemed to be a great guy. He didn't seem to care about what my brother's politics were but loved hearing about my dad, who went to ND in the early 60's, and his love of Notre Dame and what football meant to our family.
