Out of curiosity, do you guys root for anyone other than the Irish?

My other team I pay attention to and root for is Vandy. A school that does it right and I love what Lea stands for.

How about who do you consistently root against?

The team I 100% hate is Michigan. And the entirety of the SEC.

I don't really hate USC so much dislike yes.....I absolutely HATE that the USC band plays that stupid song 780 times a game.

I used to root for Penn State b/c I liked Joe Paterno and my high school team had their uniforms. But the Sandusky stuff and then Franklin's just hard to like.
I used to root for LSU b/c they're fun and colorful but then they hired Brian Kelly.
I used to root for Stanford to succeed in 11 out of 12 games b/c they were the other power that cared about the school part, but they're just irrelevant now.
So, no, not really. Maybe I'll pick up wherever my kid goes to college in a couple of years.

That’s why I’ve always liked FSU. We were the Braves. Spears on the helmet. Band played the Warchant.

Entire family are UCLA peps, so UCLA ive always rooted for as a side.

I’ve always liked Kansas since I was a kid. ND number 1, KU distant 2 in everything, all sports,…
I like Miss St in the SEC, rest of the conference can get fucked…
always liked Iowa in the BIG and I now root for UTEP.

I hate just about everyone else to various degrees but both SCUMs, tOSU and Bama can all get especially fucked, more the fans than anything.

Being from PA, my hate for PSU almost exceeds it for USC. They would be a great rival considering the overlapping fan bases in the northeast. They would never agree to a long term series unfortunately.

Oregon is cool but it doesn't faze me if they lose. UNLV is my local team so I watch them, used to be all in on their BB team

Like (when they aren't playing ND):

Service Academies. Vandy because of Lea. VA Tech because they seem like lovable losers and the ACC is more fun when they cause chaos for all the other big name schools.

Have a begrudging respect for:

Georgia just because I think Smart is a great coach, but I hate their fans.

Hate:

List too long but Michigan is No. 1 with a bullet. Always root against Tennessee athletics as well. They're the Michigan of the South.

Got to say I cheer for Vandy now too, although I usually just catch up after the game and don't get many opportunities to watch.
I generally pull for ND transfers in college as long as they were classy and left in the right way. If they pull a Jurkovec then they can fuck off.
I pull for anybody playing Michigan.

Obviously for hate I put Michigan under there, #1. Penn State is also on the list because they somehow got away with child abuse and their coach is a big bitch. I'll always hate BC after '93. I don't like USC, but I can at least respect them now that we've gotten wins back over the last decade following the Cheaty Petey years. I'm not a big fan of VT either. They think they're good still when they haven't been for decades, and I was pretty disgusted when their players talked shit to Kizer after a targeting call that took him out late in a game several years ago.

I married into a family of Gator fans so I cheer for UF.

I get other occasional one to two season rooting interests.

I hate Michigan and UGA with extreme toxicity. FSU, OSU, and PSU are in the next level below.

Other teams I sort of like: Oklahoma because of my Dad, Texas Tech because of my son, teams that have players from local high schools, TCU with the QB Hoover, Vandy when the Orji brothers played there

I think I hate Miami more than any other team around, never really cared for the South Texas schools, Boston College maybe

I also vote for Nebraska to make a comeback.

I find myself rooting for Michigan State for reasons I can’t even explain.

Wife’s family is full of UofL fans and I know they are kinda (excuse my use of this word) “thuggish” but the atmosphere at the games there is fun

Absolutely hate Michigan above all else followed by USC

I pull for Tennessee. Went down to Knoxville in 99 i think it was, and after that day they became my second team. Awesome game environment, but their fans were the most welcoming fans I have ever been around. Every tailgate we walked by, they insisted on feeding us. The fans down south are so different from the asshats at OSU or Michigan or Pedo State.

Hate: entire big 10 except Purdue and IU

Streaky series and geographic separation leads to ups and downs. Hard for the hammer to hate the nail. USC beats us a couple of times and they'll be top of mind for everyone again.
