Isn't this horse dead yet???

Apparantely not, as people are suggesting starting another QB next year for the 3rd consecutive year. Hey, I'm fine if Hendrix or someone else beats Tommy out for the starting position next year, if they really are the best man for the job. Thats all I want, best man starting. If I thought Crist gave us the best position to win, I'd put him in right now. There is one nice caveat about starting an inexperienced QB next year: we at least know that we've got Tommy as backup depending on how he finishes out the rest of the year.

Maybe not directly, but the same mentality that has made reality TV popular has also diluted the quality of journalism, sports and otherwise, because the focus is about appealing to the lowest common denominator rather than presenting the highest quality product possible. Its all about selling ad space. The more people listen, the more you get for the ad space. The smarter you make the programming, the less people will listen.

Cowherd is every bit as much evidence of this phenomenon as Jersey Shore or Survivor or American Idol. Its all unadulterated garbage.

^This. I would rep you but it tells me I have to spread it around.

Kelly did NOT say that he was "appalled" by his QB play. He said that watching some of the mistakes by the team makes him feel like bouncing around in his own rubber room sometimes. This is in response to a Cowherd remark about rubber rooms, and Kelly was laughing through the remark. Listen to the thing---it isn't long. For goodness sakes don't take your spin from us guys with our biased filters.

It is not biased. His QB play in the redzone is driving him to the nuthouse. Is that more accurate for you?

Apologize in advance to those who are sensitive to mentally ill.

Brian Kelly coaches a real sport. As the son of a Boston politician, he has to "root" for the BSox, but I doubt he gives a sh!t about what happened tonight.

Lmao OH ****!

Brian Kelly is a Red Sox fan... :censored:

I'm not insinuating that tonights meltdown would affect him in any way.

As a Yankee fan it was odd to hear him talk favorably of my most hated professional sports team.

Just curious too. What's not real about baseball? Besides A-Rods biceps.

What makes football a real sport?

Actually Kelly is a devout BoSox fan and loved Boston College growing up. That is fact.

I apologize for my minor troll. Baseball just bores me to death.

All good! I can understand that.. I brought two of my buddies from Ireland to a Yankee game about 5 years ago. It was an exciting pitching duel that went down to the wire and had me on the edge of my seat. I turned to look at them in the middle of the ninth and they were both passed out cold.

It's not for everyone.

Cowherd tells the truth which many ND fans truly cannot handle. We sucked and he had every right to bag on ND. That is what 3 bad coaching hires will do, I personally blame Swarbick.

As boring as baseball can be, last night's two-hour explosion of drama was the greatest sports moment I can remember in my short life. The excitement of pennant races and playoff baseball rivals any other sport.

Sorry, what is White that hired them? For some reason I thought Swarbick was invovled in past hirings.

Probably because Cowherd told you so. ;)

My problem with Cowherd is that he doesn't give a hell about sports except for who's getting better ratings, and that mentality carries over to his own radio show.

I understand that as a radio personality you have to stay entertaining, but trolling and pissing people off just to inflame and get ratings is bush.

Dan Patrick is my go to for entertainment AND an honest to God sports guy. Informed and funny.

Swarbrick is only responsible for Brian Kelly, no? I think White was resonsible for Davies, Willingham, and Weis. Weis wasn't all that bad, he did bring in decent talent again so that the cupboard wasn't bare like when Ty left. Weis just had a problem developing players, namely linemen.
