Burton > Hardy > Wujciack > Lynch

11 down, 8 to go? Or is it 9 with Boyd leaving? Is he officially gone?

Just get his mommy on campus and the rest should take care of itself. I don't think he's a part of the baseball draft so I've still got high hopes here.

He's on campus today through Sunday I believe plus ND is having another camp next week.

By this point

Kelly - 11 commits - Koyak, Hegarty, Hardy - 4*, 7 3*'s, Legit Kicker

Weis - 8 commits - 1 5*, 1 4*

I think Boyd's at USF

I'm worried about Lynch

From what I read, Boyd is at summer school. ND wouldn't release him unless he was in good standing academically, and that included a run through summer school. I could be mis-remembering though...

Well played LA

Here's the story from Inside the Irish:

Giving George O'Leary a run for shortest tenure in Irish football history, cornerback Spencer Boyd is transferring away from Notre Dame, before ever spending an autumn with the Irish.

The move isn't completely unexpected as rumblings started a few weeks ago, but the South Bend Tribune's Eric Hansen broke the story officially this afternoon. According to Hansen, for Boyd's transfer to be complete he needs to work his way into good academic standing with the university, so he's spending summer school with the Irish to get his classwork in order. It appears the split is more than amicable.

"He's been a good kid," head coach Brian Kelly told Hansen. "He's done the right things. He's worked hard. He fell behind academically and had a lot of personal things going on in his life. Unfortunately, all of the things tipped the scale enough to make it difficult for him to stay in South Bend."

Boyd has a two-year-old son who lives back in Florida. He had offers from Miami, UCF, and South Florida among others before signing with the Irish, and it appears that he'll end up with new coach Skip Holtz in South Florida.

It'll be interesting to see how the transfer rules apply to Boyd. He was likely to redshirt his freshman year of college, but also has the type of hardship case where the NCAA waives the one-year waiting period for eligibility. Either way, he'll probably have five years to play four seasons.

It's tough to ruminate on what the Irish lost having only had 15 workouts with Boyd, but the first transfer of the Brian Kelly era seems to have been handled with class across the board. Boyd is the first early-entry transfer the Irish have had since the Irish opened up early enrollment five years ago. It's a good reminder of just how big of a reality shock it is for a high schooler to enter college before his senior prom.

Wujciak - Good chance anytime from 6/27 - 7/5

Worley - Will announce sometime in July, we got a shot after his visit

Huggins - Sounds like good stuff, but he has some big offers...probably waits for the season

Lynch - We need to get him here with his mom ASAP to cool off everyones nerves

Shuler, K Williams, Phelps, Poteat unofficials at some point...who am I forgetting?

ND's Board

With NDinLA's comments

ATH Christian French (starting to get noticed more, and I think he'll blow up nationally. Very interested in ND, but as schools get to know him I wouldn't be surprised to see him land elsewhere)
ATH George Atkinson III
ATH Miles Shuler
DB Lyndell Johnson (tough get out of TX. interested in ND but him cancelling his visit didn't help. But he did it b/c of summer school, which he needs to qualify for ND)
DB Josh Atkinson
DB Wayne Lyons (says ND is recruiting him the hardest)
DE Ben Councell (now has ND tied w/ GT...only problem is distance. If he gets over that he's all ND. Big 'if' though)
DE Connor Wujciak Visiting this weekend
DE Aaron Lynch (this one will hurt if we lose him, but that's a trend w/ ND and defensive ends)
DE Brennan Scarlett
OL Cyrus Hobbi (might not be recruiting anymore b/c of lack of need)
QB Justin Worley Visiting this weekend
RB Justice Hayes
RB Jameel Poteat
RB Savon Huggins
TE Richard Rodgers
TE Troy Niklas (very interested)
WR Hakeem Flowers
WR Ja'Juan Story (may visit soon)
WR Davaris Daniels (You all know.)
WR Kasen Williams

I think we get Worley and Wujciak this weekend.
Just hopeful thinking though.
I think Worley is dying to commit to us, but is concerned about the depth chart.
If anyone knows anything about Kelly though I dont think there is reason to worry about a big depth chart and playing time, he is known for playing a lot of QB's during a season.

Where are you hearing this? I have not seen anything that says he's leaning towards ND, and most of the big schools recruiting him are deep at QB

We have a really good chance of getting 2 or 3 commits within the next couple weeks. Most important to reel in the cornerstone of our rebuilding defense...

We Need Aaron Lynch.

Just for fun and I do not want to alienate any recruits as they are all important...

I get excited whenever we pick up any player, especially with this staffs ability to coach up kids to max out their talent. That being said, big talent players at multiple positions have us high on their list (or are at least legit interested). If we had to pick one at a time in order of importance we should first look at positions:

Defense, Defense, Defense!!!
DE - therefore Lynch #1
DB - another cornerstone guy Wayne Lyons
DB - I will stay at this position for another great talent Chris Jones
DE - I am probably being unrealistic here but of all other players at this postion, Ray Drew is next
ATH - probably play WR due to pure play making ability, George Atkinson
DE - Ishaq Williams
DE - Brennan Scarlett
DE - In all likelihood a future commit, and a damn good one, Connor Wujciak
DB - another pipe dream Marcus Roberson, but replace here for any other quality DB
RB - We are already loaded here, but kid is a player, Savon Huggins
WR - Hakeem Flowers 2nd Favorite playmaker
OLB - Christian French/Trey DePriest - I hope we hold out a spot for whoever pops first
OT - Antonio Richardson
QB - see RB position above, Justin Worley...iceing on the cake

Flowers is a BEAST!

Flowers is a BEAST!

Ihave seen both he and Worley play in Rock Hill. They are two of the best HS players I've ever seen. I'm not sure we have shot at either one but good God they prime Athletes!

Kasen Williams is coming, could he be the top receiver thats eluded us the past few years. We don't need alot of WR's, just one GREAT one.

Let's go IRISH!

I have seen a lot of HS receivers, and I'm telling you, Flowers is the real deal. He runs good routes, gets great separation, and if he gets a half step on you....forget it. I saw him run away from a CB that I knew was faster than he was, he just found another gear with the ball in his hand.
And Worely, jeez! The only thing he would need to work on would be his footwork. Other than that, he beats out all but Crist, RIGHT NOW.
I don't know if either of these kids are the RKG, but they are players!

Next to commit?

I'm guessing one of these guys

RB: Hayes (ND vs. MSU), Huggins (may be a while), and Wright (if offered) have been getting a lot of attention

DB: Jones

QB: Worley, Ely
