Don't need anymore than just Bryant back there to have this. Need me to upload some pics?

He loves him some selfies on Instagram..i see more than I can handle

I want a Daryl 'Moose' Johnston type full back, blowing fools up and clearing holes.

"I stumbled on coach Tony (Caviglia) and Fresno City," Williams said. "I looked at the great things they're doing over there ... having kids graduate and moving on to other schools and to advance in their career.

"What impressed me with coach Tony is the high percentage of guys that graduate. That's what impressed me the most. When I talked to him ... his character and being honest. ... It's a better fit for my son."

Smith is majoring in engineering and carries a GPA of at least 3.0 or better since high school.

I think he's one heck of an ATH. Where does that put him, I'd say best option would be LB. With that said let me say that I think he can play RB but I don't view him as a BCS playoff RB. Kind of like Will Mahone, solid depth player but probably just that.
First let me say: HELL YEAH JUCO PLAYER!

Then let me disagree with you. I think Adams is perfect fit for the hybrid RB/Slot back.

lol do you remember Jamel James? He committed and I was like no way this can be true.

CJ Sanders came out of know where but he is actually talented.

I don't want to be a dick but if the staff thought he was a perfect fit would we be spending so much time trying to find another RB? Or would we just send out some middling offers looking for his backup?

Smith has zero impact on the status of Adams or 2015 RB to be honest. He is a in a different class than they would be in and could essentially filling the role of Elijah Hood in numbers/style of play.

What about the role of Gio Bernard, Byron Marshall and Soso Jamabo?

Two of them were never committed like Hood was, not sure of your point but it does suck that we appear to be missing out on Soso after hearing for so long we were his leader.

Not sure what point of this is? Just stating players that haven't come to ND. Well if thats the game you'll be occupied for a while.

Lol I was just trying to bust his balls. I am confused on what role he meant Elijah Hood would play? Or what we missed with Hood?

Nevermind he was describing his style of play. I will now take my lap

His play and his role as another scholarship player at runningback

See this is where I see things differently. I see RB's as Folston, Bryant and Cam type players.

But the hybrid RB/Slot I see as Theo and Amir type players. I don't think Adams is a straight RB, I think he is a hybrid type player.

Fair enough, I'd say that I'm further from that than I am of him at RB. CJ Sanders is the mold of what we want at that spot.

GB- Notre Dame has needed to bruiser and a big back since Jonas Gray got hurt. Hood would have been the bruiser that ND has needed at times this year. Cam has heart, but he isnt 6'2 225. Smith fills that role for Notre Dame, since Hood decommitted. TF/GB arent small backs, but they also arent Carlos Hyde.

I dont see Adams in a slot at all. I mean, could he flex out there in motion like Folston does at times? Sure. But I dont think he is in the mold of a Theo/Prosise/Amir. They have agility and Adams isnt in that category of agility. I just cant see Adams working the seam or timing routes consistently.

Sold on Adams at RB though!

Now I understand what you meant, I thought you were naming RB's that we missed that would have helped so that's why I named my squad. I agree because I think Josh Adams will be a nice player but we need a top RB. It's been about 20 years since we have had one.

Sorry if this has already been addessed. Turns out this isn't what I'd hoped. This kid isn't at a JUCO b/c of academics, he's there b/c he had no scholarship offers coming out of HS. In other words, there's zero excuse (assuming he qualifies) for admissions to deny this kid. If they do, it's just plain elitism.

This is not unprecedented as form FB, Larry Moriarty; went to a JUCO in Cali while he recovered from an auto accident. He then enrolled at ND and had a nice career that ended in the NFL w/ the Houston Oilers.

The standard reason given for no JUCOs relates to their credits not transferring and an inability to graduate in 4 years. While I agree with you that it basically equates to "academic elitism" at the sake of football, it's rather consistent and this is a departure from that.

Essentially, baby steps. See how this goes and then go from there.

It'll be critical for him to be cleared and enrolled by Spring semester. No way he could make up a full year, but maybe he carries some AP scores from HS that help catch up on the semester.

That's what I was assuming or why would the staff even bother?

Do we not have a way to track JUCO's that maybe were under the radar/just short of playing Div I ball? I mean, I feel like even if we placed a system that followed top 25 JUCO Schools and their players, it would be worth it if we could grab 2 or 3 every few years. Just an idea but I am sure someone can come up with a plan that would make that possible.

I understand it is a rare case but did we really just "stumble" over this kid or did we have a system in place to find these guys?
