haven't had a chance to read up on the thread lately
But has anyone talked about the fact that ND has played back to back good defenses with elite talent for UGA?
Vs PSU has had two very manageable opponents thus far? And even Oregon's D appears to be overrated .

Not much. The II gang touched on this a little bit.

I think ND will be more "acclimated" to big boy football than PSU will. That helps ND.

But, ND has played two physical games against two good defenses, that has to be taking a toll at this point.

It was an honest question. Is mid-week a better predictor than early or late movement in the line?

I'm sorry, didn't mean to be snarky. I thought you were commenting that we likely *should* expect updated odds to be fairly accurate predictors, given the existence of an entire city built on people throwing away their money in the Nevada desert. Which, yeah. 🤣

To your question, tho, those seem close enough to be not different, but they *are* different from opening lines, by a good couple of points.

Tell me more about this prediction tracker....

Pretty awesome website - tracks the most predictive college football ratings systems:

Outside of the vegas updated moneyline, Sargarin, ESPN's FPI, and Dokter Entropy have been the best this season.

Sargarin has us as a ~3pt favorite FWIW

To be honest, I dont think we have had to show too much to offensively to win the games which is remarkable. If you told me that we would have only 90 passing yards and Love would only have 4-5 carries, and we won Id have laughed. Were in control of IU from the start and the game was never really in question against UGA the way our D was playing. Incredible stuff.
I think you're right. When ND got the ball following the Oben sack/fumble they scored in one play on a slant 15-16 yards downfield. I'm not sure they tried anything that deep the rest of the night (excepting the "free play" on that Georgia offsides that should have been caught). They spent the entire second half with a double digit lead.

I'm optimistic that ND has been building up and sitting on quite a bit in the passing game.
Yep. UGA was lined up for a run on that slant never thinking ND would pass. Their LB's crashed the minute RL looked like the was handing off opening up the passing lane.

Oregon's defense got exposed as straight up bad.

They padded their defensive numbers playing some of the absolute worst offenses in the country.

These are the scoring offenses Oregon played.

Illinois (64th)
Oregon State (97th)
Washington (99th)
Maryland (100th)
Wisconsin (101st)
Michigan (103rd)
UCLA (123rd)
Michigan State (126th)
Purdue (134th)
Idaho (FCS)

8 of their 14 opponents ranked 97th or worse in scoring offense, on top of playing FCS Idaho. Illinois is their most impressive output, giving up 9 points to the 64th ranked scoring offense. Here's there results against the remaining four opponents:

Boise State (8th): 34 points, 367 yards (5.1 ypp), Jeanty had 192 yards rushing
Ohio State (6th) Rd 1: 31 points, 467 yards (6.9 ypp)
Penn State (18th): 37 points, 518 yards (7 ypp), Penn State ran for almost 300 yards on them
Ohio State (6th) Rd 2: 41 points, 500 yards (8.8 ypp), gave up 34 points in the first half.

Each decent offense they played scored and moved the ball on them successfully.

I can’t tell if the big man upstairs wants us to win the whole fucking thing or not boys. Seems like he does to me.
For as many bad breaks as we've had with injuries, we sure seem to be getting some back the other way. I feel like it's destiny at this point.

He’s yet to practice this week lol. GTFO. Crazier things have happened but there’s no way he’s 50%, he’ll be used as a distraction

"Complimentary football." Our defense has been so good at keeping the other team out of the endzone that we haven't had to rely on the offense to outscore people all season, with the exception of USC.

Run the ball, control the clock, control field position, win the turnover battle.
Tressel ball at its finest. I remember the pounding of keyboards when it became evident MF had no intentions of having a wide open score early and often offense because that is the only way you can hang with the elite teams.

Tbf, as any good husband would, I have no intentions of a wife open score....early, often or otherwise.

Just doing my part as the self appointed head of the neighborhood watch
"Yes, sorry, new neighborhood rules say we need one large climbing tree per 400 house radius and outside your bedroom window just happens to be in the middle. I'm going to need to plant this fully mature sycamore right about here"

I am straight up worried about this game. I think UGA was overrated and I don't think Penn State is...they look tough...and having a big ass TE to chuck the rock to could be our downfall

If Carter plays, first offensive snap you go right at that shoulder. If it's separated, his mobility will be pretty much shot and one good hit will be the end. I separated my shoulder about 15 years ago and during the recovery I got into a fender bender and just that collision ended the recovery and my season. Knapp hits harder than a shitty old Saab I'm guessing.

Not worried about it I'm sure he will have some big plays but Golden isn't gonna let him beat us all night shit double team him make them beat you with someone else. Allar can't run much and they don't have WR's better than USC
