I am straight up worried about this game. I think UGA was overrated and I don't think Penn State is...they look tough...and having a big ass TE to chuck the rock to could be our downfall
Booger loves us in this matchup
I listened to this earlier in the car. I had the same thought initially but then I remembered seeing somewhere that ND was susceptible to stretch plays this year. But if Golden cleaned up responsibilities on stretch, ND's athleticism and size from the linebackers will blow these up pretty regularly."Question #2 - can Penn St continue to utilize the perimeter run?"
Me thinks not.
I think that was before the resurgence of Sneed, Ausenberry and Bowen. I have faith that they won’t be able to have the success against us as they did with Boise with the outside runs. Literally every big run I saw so far from rewatching that game was to that direction. Another big point is Boise gave Ailar a lot of fits with blitzing. I know Boise had a ton of sacks this year but I like to think we have better talent to do it as well as the better headset.I listened to this earlier in the car. I am a contrarian on this game big time. I think it's going over (it's only 44.5). I think both teams run the ball well AND hit a couple shot plays. 24-21 ND.
I won't say the majority but a LOT of those are due to false starts or the dreaded illegal formation disease that seems to have taken over CFB and even the NFL this year. Eliminate those and get a solid three or four yards on 1st down and make it easier on yourselves!!ND will inevitably find themselves in a lot of 3rd & longs as been their MO most of the season. Hopefully they can mix in some run plays on some of them b/c it seems a tall order to ask RL & the underwhelming WR corps to make a play through the air.
I think every sack was on the same scheme too (Axe blitz). Simple and common blitz that PSU couldn't figure out. I'm sure they worked on it this week, and I'm sure Golden will do it once or twice then show it and give them something else that they were not prepared for.I think that was before the resurgence of Sneed, Ausenberry and Bowen. Go watch the video of Fucklin running across the field after a sideline interview. You will hate him even more.We can't lose to the dork James Franklin and the underachieving Nittany lions. But I've been saying that each week. Can't lose to Indiana period. Can't lose to whiney Kirby. Can't lose to d-bag Day....I guess what I'm saying is, we may as well win the national championship.
Need to really design and craft up plays to get Faison the ball...he is a match up nightmare and the biggest threat as a game breaker at the WR position.
He runs like he has a Dorito between his cheeks and he's trying not to break it.Go watch the video of Fucklin running across the field after a sideline interview. You will hate him even more.
He swings his arms like they are independent from his body. It’s like watching a Jim Carey skit from In Living ColorHe runs like he has a Dorito between his cheeks and he's trying not to break it.

If Carter plays, first offensive snap you go right at that shoulder. If it's separated, his mobility will be pretty much shot and one good hit will be the end. I separated my shoulder about 15 years ago and during the recovery I got into a fender bender and just that collision ended the recovery and my season. Knapp hits harder than a shitty old Saab I'm guessing.
Carter is a projected top 5 pick and I could see him wanting to protect himself from further injury.
That said, if he does play, props to him. But, I'm putting Evans in the slot only to motion him in to crack block him. I'm also giving Williams the ball (he runs most physical in my opinion) and going right at him. Test him to see how much he really wants to play.
I've said it before in this thread, he's an elite pass rusher...he's fast, quick, and agile which is why his draft stock is so high (given the way the NFL game is played). However, he is not those two bruisers at UGA in the run defense. He isn't as physical as them.
There was a screen set up for him early in the GA game where he had a ton of daylight. Unfortunately the D-Lineman for UGA got his paw on the pass and knocked it down.Agreed. He's very shifty and just knows how to get open. Some guys, for whatever reason, just can't find separation or open space. Faison is not that guy...
That said, I still don't know understand why Denbrock hasn't also schemed Love getting some easy targets in the passing game as well. He's such a dynamic player and you'd think you'd want to get him varying touches as opposed to just handing the ball off. Love is that guy that, a move here and there, and he'll turn what looks like to be a 5 yard reception into a 50 yard reception. For example, Denbrock called a great play the very first play in the LSU - Florida State game where the RB went out of the backfield on a wheel route for a big game. Love would house that one: (LINK to specific play). It would also only build Leonard's confidence as well as taking off some of the grind from Leonard having to run the ball like a battering ram as well.
I think ND needs to have this mentality across the board. PSU has not played a competitive game in a month. They walked over SMU, and played Jeanty and a bunch of scrubs last week. They have not played a team as physical as ND all year (OSU is now as physical as ND, but they were not at this level when they played PSU). ND's goal should be to make PSU quit in the fourth quarter.Carter is a projected top 5 pick and I could see him wanting to protect himself from further injury.

I need a pep talk fellas. I can't shake this feeling that the on-campus game was so electric and amazing that the Orange Bowl is going to feel like a let-down by comparison.
ND by a million. No it is 100% going to be sterile and corporate as fuck
Huge let down (with the exception of the game result since they’ll win)
Drink. A lot. You will then be responsible for the excitementI need a pep talk fellas. I can't shake this feeling that the on-campus game was so electric and amazing that the Orange Bowl is going to feel like a let-down by comparison.
Just have sex in your car again before the game.Ugh like the premiere of Monday Night Raw on Netflix. Maybe that's why this is annoying me so much. I already have that particular ick from last night.
Yeah but in South Bend I could get 19.2oz Zombie Dust for $2.99.

You know what you have to do for the sake of us winning. I’d start with that drinking I recommend.I didn't have sex in my car, I had sex in the Hotel Elkhart, three doors down from Jeremiyah Love's parents.
Also my wife isn't coming this trip, so I'm taking volunteers.
