Is he supposed to actually be any good? I seen a few posts about him a few weeks back. One had a video of him doing some drills and he didn't seem half bad.
Dude is youuuuuuung, but by all accounts looks the part physically and didn't look out of place. He's not getting an offer today, but he's being watched it seems.

Easy to watch being just down the street at Penn.

And while I agree, I think people are getting too fixated on a single event. There are other quality June visitors. Allen, Litchfield, Channing Tindall, Trey Dean, Jack Lamb, Jacob Lacey, Thomas Booker, Shane Lee, Julian Barnett, and George Takacs. Those are just off the top of my head. So though II was down from previous years, they are doing a pretty good job of getting quality talent from all over the country to visit.

I believe those are all top 250 players in their respective classes.

Also, if all II does for us, down the road, is solidify the twins, and add McGrone, Simon, and Johnson, then id call that a success, IMO. That is adding 3 top 250 defenders (some would say top 150) to the roster.

If you add Oweh to the mix then I'd categorize that as really good. Who BTW seems like he could be an NFL DE some day. He's got some freakish qualities about him.

This is why I posed the question really. I'm not sure if it's just perception that this year's event seems "down" (due to lack of reporting, either from the services or from fewer people the site posting reports) or if it's actually "down".

Or as you all have pointed out that it actually was successful in that the staff had a high success rate with the targeted '18 guys (efficiency over mass) and building great base for '19.

I really don't know. From the casual reader perspective it looks like the following: no known commitments, 1 offer went out, there was one short video of some plays, and our best D linemen appears very solid. So I posed my question to those who follow more closely (pay sites, in loops) to get a better understanding of how the event went.

The underclassmen talent is down compared to last.

The interest from this board in the event is WAY down. Last year it was 10 pages long, this year it's just 4 pages and half that is me talking to myself.

One thing is for sure... Going 4-8 and Trump winning the election has killed IE's football content.

Loys comment about Craig Young, I agree with.. He definitely stuck out on all the videos I saw. Kid seems like he will be a play maker in the future. Hope we can keep him local.

Outside you and 1 or 2 others, there is a drastic difference in the amount of people who bring reports, info, tweets to the board in general than a few years ago.

I don't know if it's a result of when ISD cracked down on the Friday Intel, and then Loy Boys hard on for Panda, or what.

for sure, i can remember the days when i'd see a piece of news online and i'd fire up IE to post it when somebody had beaten me to the punch by a few seconds..rarely happens much anymore

from my personal experience, i have 4 kids(8,9,10,11), fulltime job and coach 2 baseball teams..i have a lot to get done in the day and when i was able to just click and paste some info i didn't have to take much time out of my day because as i read it, i could just post it....then it became more stringent and you weren't able to do that and you had to summarize...well then loy came in and was causing issues here so i didn't want the mods having to deal w/ stuff so i just felt i was wasting too much time/effort for what???? i wasn't getting paid but then work blocked twitter (new IT guy) and just became waaaay to much effort having to read stuff from twitter and then trying to embedd tweets etc...also didn't help w/ the season we had

Exactly me as well - more kids...kids got older...new job...less free time during job duties. I'm more of a reader now but appreciate EVERYTHING that our insiders bring to this site.

by no means was my post meant to call you out for stopping. and if no one ever posts tweets, reports, intel, again then thats what it is. I was just noting that Loy's interactions with you could have made others who did post things in a more casual fashion feel it wasnt worth the trouble, ultimately leading to where we are.

there's footage of him in the II highlights video in the II thread. The kid can sling it but he's only just going into his freshman year i think?

Yup. Mike Frank couldn't believe how young he was, dude is already big.

Let's see, a legacy at QB with big size. Probably going to Georgia

If that's the case, Conner and I would appreciate it if you would make up for that by changing your avatar more often.
