Great, so I expect you to not comment on any foreign policy decisions by anyone outside of the US. See how stupid that sounds?

I was saying that as a joke because of how retarded it is to turn away an entire population because of a minority of bad actors.

Pre-Covid Chinese tourists were bringing 30B to the economy annually. Maybe they aren’t visiting rural PA so you don’t think it impacts the economy.

I’m not defending them? Skin them alive, I do not care about people caught doing any of this. But if you and Virginia are scared of some random Chinese tourist coming to spend a week in NYC to visit 5th avenue maybe you shouldn’t leave your house because there’s much scarier things out there.
The US closing its borders to a foreign state who is communist, whose gov hates the US, and who regularly sides with the enemies of the US is not crazy. These students trying to bring illegal substances to our country is one more justification and it's happened more than once.

The US does not need Chinese tourists for our economy to thrive.

Rural PA? My house is 12 miles from the city limits of Philadelphia, the 5th largest city in the country. Ya turd.

And this isn't about fear. It's about recognizing the reality of serious danger at our doorstep and mitigating risk whenever possible.

The FBI has said it has about 2,500 active counterintelligence cases, related to China.

A U.S. House Homeland Security report identified 60+ espionage or repression cases in just the past ~4 years across multiple states. A broader study found 224 reported espionage incidents since 2000.

We can't fix problems - bad for business.

Smooth brains can't delineate between tourists spending a few weeks to shop Madison Avenue and students working in research labs for years on end.
Or inbreds can’t see how a few criminals means you destroy a relationship with the largest country in the world. Lmao it’s incredible how fucking stupid that argument is.

How much do you know about counterintelligence? There are times I laugh at how stupid the system is in the name of political correctness or international relations with countries that hate us like China… for context I had friend move there and started a Bibe study at her home and was arrested and then later deported back to the US for simply having friends over to read the Bible. Pretty sure that didn’t hurt any diplomatic relations lol. She was a research student there.

How many criminals do you think China would tolerate with an influx of Americans across its borders?

No idea? Don't think you should ever be comparing yourself to China in terms of authoritarianism lmao. Like saying Brian Kelly was a great coach at LSU because LA Tech did worse.

Good friends with the CSIS lead for Toronto counter terrorism who lead the Toronto 18 investigation, so for whatever that's worth. Yeah? China is a repressive authoritarian state? Water is wet. My point is acting the same way authoritarian governments around the world do is not what the beacon of the free world should do. Especially one with the security/intelligence strength the US has.

Says who? You have a lot of made up arguments on your head.
Says who?

Just because you forget the Shithole countries “controversy” doesn’t mean it didn’t happen.

Bonus points for this video chastising Trump for his complaints against FISA surveillance on his campaign, which the segment referred to as “unfounded” (turns out they were true)

You still can't get this right. The US can function as a beacon of freedom and simultaneously forbid any foreigners entry to the country. There's history of the US doing this dating back 100 years. Absolutely no one is entitled to enter the US because they want to regardless of their intentions while here.

Unless we're talking about 2021-2024 in which case borders were cut down and Biden brought in every swinging dick he could.

If being selective about your immigration policies is authoritarian, the Nordics are all Nazis and the US is run by the sisters of Christian charity.

Nothing, there isn’t anything intelligent about Canada in the context of this conversation.

That’s not your point. Your point was not hurting the feelings of “the largest country in the world”. Do you really think China sees the US as beacon of any sort? They hate us because they ain’t us…
Especially one with the security/intelligence strength the US has.
Such a loaded sentence and you have no idea, nor your Canadian “intelligence” friend. You know what makes the security in the US strong? You know what makes intelligence in the US strong?

US security and intelligence strength stems from its people and their deep nationalistic pride in the country and one another. This pride drives talented individuals from Midwest farm kids to the inner city to the surfers on each coast join the CIA, NSA, FBI, and military intelligence roles. They serve with conviction, seeing America as an exceptional republic worth defending through sacrifice, ingenuity, and long hours. This shared belief creates cohesion, fuels innovation in cyber, satellites, and human networks, and builds an adaptable force that authoritarian systems cannot replicate. At its core, it is ordinary citizens volunteering for these roles united by loyalty to the flag, Constitution, and MOSTLY their fellow Americans.

What weakens it is a diluted idea system or culture that erodes this unifying pride. When patriotism is treated as suspect, national exceptionalism is downplayed, or the shared American narrative fractures into competing grievances and identities, trust and focus suffer. Recruitment narrows, decision-making slows under ideological layers, and internal divisions replace the common purpose that once multiplied effectiveness. Preserving that clear, unapologetic cultural core centered on the country and its people keeps America’s edge sharp, diluting it hollows the system from within.

We just had an issue with a Nigerian that came to the US illegally and was still able to apply for and get into the US Military. What might be a shock is you don’t have to be a citizen to be in the military. You can come here illegally and day 1 apply for the military. Security clearances are given to foreigners all the time. Such a fucked up system.

Hold up there, pal. Which laws were in place 100 years ago that you want brought back? What was done that you liked.

Classifying the entire population of a country as non-permissible is pretty Nazi-esque. Remember, you brought up Nazis' first, so don't get upset.

Nothing, there isn’t anything intelligent about Canada in the context of this conversation.

I'll take the opinion of the guy who's worked with FBI and CIA directors.

That’s not your point. Your point was not hurting the feelings of “the largest country in the world”. Do you really think China sees the US as beacon of any sort? They hate us because they ain’t us…
My point was excluding the population of the largest country on earth and one that spends $30B a year in the US through tourism.

Such a loaded sentence and you have no idea, nor your Canadian “intelligence” friend. You know what makes the security in the US strong? You know what makes intelligence in the US strong?
lmao my bad for saying the US has the best security and intel apparatus in the world. And I'm the guy who "hates" the US.

CT in Toronto has to be hella crazy. Keeps those level 10's up at night. Amen for Tear Lines.

While an exact total number of Chinese spies in U.S. universities is unknown, investigations suggest thousands of students and academics are involved in efforts targeting American research. Up to 18% of Chinese students—roughly 50,000—receive funding from Chinese programs linked to academic espionage, while reports suggest dozens of academics are actively stealing sensitive military secrets.

I”ll also add this. Either you are a liar liar pants on fire or your “good friend” is awful at this intelligence thing. People at this level are usually tight lipped about what they do and the work they have done. You might have just outed your friend and not even realized it… if he exists that is. If he does exist he could face prosecution for telling you who he is and what he does or did. Either way you just admitted you now NOTHING about intelligence. Thanks for playing.

lol do you think he was hands on in the field? do you think he’s spouted off about where the space houses CSIS maintains are? The most interesting thing he’s shared has been that most high profile office towers in the city have “extra fire drills” because of intel they have.

At the end of the day, you can choose to believe me or not. I will always take his opinion over a guy who had to use ChatGPT to come up with some social fabric intel AI slop post who had issues motivating teenagers at a bike shop but is now all of a sudden some secret agent.

The fact that “someone” told you they are some “Lead CSIS” is intelligence malpractice. The fact that you shared it on a message board is an even bigger malpractice. If he’s friends with you, a guy that shares this sort of thing on a message board, that is intelligence malpractice. The fact that you admit the best info he’s ever given you is fire drills absolutely makes bringing him up the dumbest thing you’ve ever done on this board.
At the end of the day, you can choose to believe me or not.
I don’t. It’s one thing to be some random pencil pusher for the intelligence community but a lead would be ghost. Boots on the ground or not he’s not telling you these things.
I will always take his opinion over a guy who had to use ChatGPT to come up with some social fabric intel AI slop post who had issues motivating teenagers at a bike shop but is now all of a sudden some secret agent.
That’s the difference. My work and my position is not secret. I could totally dox myself and be in full compliance. You’re claiming a ghost is telling you Canadian fire drill secrets which solidifies your argument that China is a net positive for US.

And yes I owned a “bike shop”. You act like I was the assistant to the regional manager at a bike shop.

If he is a lead CSIS and if he “led” the investigation for the Toronto 18 then he’s not telling people. Especially not telling an accountant that spends most of his day on a college football message board ranting about how much he hates America.

Conclusion… you are a liar.

I know you are but what am I is such great content. Keep it up guys.

Would our universities miss a beat if we deported all the Chinese national students? Poor profs might have to teach some undergrad courses and grade some papers but at least students might understand more than 10% of the words coming out of the lecturer's mouth. We all know the $$$ attached to these international students paying full freight is keeping a pile of second rate universities afloat. Adapt or fail - shouldn't be that offensive for the Darwin loving "Science!" crowd to stand on merit.

Either China is a geopolitical threat or they aren't.

Haitians are the best - such great culture. 350,000 for sixteen years of "temporary" status and still not safe for them to go home. How do people defend this with a straight face?

This reminded me of something kinda funny (not at the time, but...). I had a Chinese grad student teaching my calculus class at Bama. We all hated that bastard. Nothing against him for being Chinese, but we couldn't understand half of what he said and worst of all, he'd write with his right hand then erase what he'd just written with his left hand as he moved across the board, all the while blocking most of it from view with his body. You'd catch a glimpse of some of what he'd written and then it would be gone. We couldn't understand what he said, couldn't see what he wrote, couldn't discuss any of it with him, nothing. He was #^#()&! useless. I stopped going to class before the first month was over. Just taught myself out of the book and took the exams.

This is a terrible story... The sons of the husband in this story sound like real pieces of shit.

I don't claim to know everything in the story but it doesn't seem that anything other than long lost love reunited - The American husband and former GI didn't appear to have much to his name so I doubt there were any financial motivations here.

And the sons purposely redirected mail going to the couples him after their father died causing her to miss an important immigration meeting; and one of the sons pushed for her to be detained. Lastly, it sounds like she may have been abused in the ICE detention center but that's not confirmed. Glad she's at least back in France now with her family.

Which reminds me of being in school (UMD) when there were several instances of a Chinese grad student asking about my mil service in the First Gulf War and pointed questions about classified weapon systems. I was a straight grunt, but knew something wasn't right. OPSEC bitches!

You think everyone is Jason Bourne. In one sentence you're saying he's committing this great malpractice and the next him telling me that downtown fire drills is laughable, which one is it? Is he Chelsea Handler? or is he just some dolt? Make up your mind.

That’s the difference. My work and my position is not secret. I could totally dox myself and be in full compliance. You’re claiming a ghost is telling you Canadian fire drill secrets which solidifies your argument that China is a net positive for US.
You're like Leppy, you think the superiors are all James Bond and Jason Bourne but actually can't fathom what goes on. I answered your question about my knowledge of the intelligence community and I gave you my background, I'm not claiming to be some secret insider just giving you my anecdotal relationship.

And yes I owned a “bike shop”. You act like I was the assistant to the regional manager at a bike shop.

You complained about scheduling issues with teenagers. You were an owner manager, not some sort of passive investor who owned the place.

I don't post any more than you do lol. You really have no clue how the world works eh, how do you think people get into private practice or work as consultants from their time in an intel agency? You think those people stroll in and say "dude trust me, I am ghost, I have a pen that turns into a gun and I can zipline down buildingz!"

You literally used AI to write some weird nationalist slop and you're calling me the liar. Incredible work! lol

Generally don’t know how you function as an adult human being if you think this is what was meant by the 14th amendment
That's my view of the 14th also. It was originally meant to make sure former slaves were given full citizenship, then to give citizenship to children born of legal immigrants who were on the path to becoming citizens. Anchor baby citizenship for children of people who are here illegally was not the intent. That's a stretch and an abuse of the law.
