Walked uphill both ways to school too, snowflakes.

The point you fail to grasp, tons of people attend events around the world via the secondary market. Not everyone relies on secret handshakes and rich/lucky relatives to score their 50 yard line gold seats for a fraction of their market value. If you have ever used that market to attend an event, you might appreciate better the ability to recoup money for events you cannot attend via the same channels.

Start up your fans only ticket exchange and I will jump right on there to sell my tickets next time- as will every opposing fan who realizes they can buy half price tickets relative to StubHub. Your concerns are well intentioned but completely unrealistic in your police state solutions. The entire ticketing system is just now exiting the stone ages - expecting retinal scans by the ushers on demand.... good luck Minority Reporters. Sorry for being the buzzkill old man. Get woke.

you are equating ND football games to Disney on Ice. You are meant to be a fan, not a consumer or product user.

I don't really have that much of an issue with what you did in the sense that maybe you didn't even think about who was buying your tickets and what the impact of selling them might be

It's your whole no regrets, IDGAF attitude that bothers me considering what you now know about what happened.

Nah. The point you are failing to grasp is that true fans of sports teams don't sell out their team by making a quick buck. Selling your tickets for your favorite team's biggest home game of the year to the opposing team's fans sucks.

"It was not a surprise,” Kelly[Rob] said of the number of Georgia fans in Notre Dame Stadium. “We were prepared for the visual experience that everybody had in the stadium on game day. That's not to say that it makes us happy, but it wasn't a shocker."

Sooo...did anyone receive correspondence from the "BRANDING" guy in the athletic department Rob Kelly, discussing the impact to the "BRAND" to have 30k Dawg fans in attendance...because clearly he KNEW this was a possibility.

Man I'd love to apply his logic to my life...

Yea, uncle Sam, you hired me to develop a standoff, man launched bunker buster, that explodes mid air and leaves a red contrail right back to where it was fired from...knew the incoming fire was coming though.

Yea, wife, you married me because I said I'd honor and cherish you all the days of my life, so I cheat, get the clap, give it to you...knew the divorce was coming though.

I mean Geez....

The letter to the editor proves some of the point here - gained a deep south supporter with our hospitality and class. The point is valid that raising the prices so much prices people out (who can't accept worse than the best seats from looking at this guy's $300 premier seat price example). How many more people need to sell half their tickets to keep the rest compared to many years ago? Used to be easy to recoup some costs because your only charge was the face value of the ticket - sell half and get half your money back, not bad if you sell the patsies at face to go to USC, Michigan etc for the same price. With "donation" requirements all the ungrateful louts hyperventilate if you try to ask more than face value to recoup your costs - motivating people to go to faceless exchanges.

The last two seasons we lost fewer than three games were 2012 and 1993 - It is a well know fact amongst adults who have followed sports that winners get more support than losers. These teams combined for a losing record in 2016.

If we were competitive, USC would be a bigger game than a middling SEC team this year, IMO. Maybe not more expensive secondary market ticket but a bigger game. Since we are 5-9 the last 13 months....

“The late notice was really the worst part. I haven’t heard from the guy,” Georgia fan Seth Welch explained following the fiasco. “Word on the street is the Notre Dame fans that promised him tickets saw the Georgia fans were paying premiums for tickets and kind of held out, gave him his money back, and decided to sell them on their own on the market for higher dollar amount.”

hmmmmm
