Will do and please let us know when you are healed-I'll be praying. God Bless us all.Hello IE brothers & sisters. Over the past couple of years I have grown to feel like all of you are a part of my family. We have laughed, cursed, shed some recruiting tears & prayed for one another.
The reason I started this thread is, man I am as low as catfish crap in the Mississippi river. I had 3 back surgeries last year. First was a fusion. The next two was because the fusion didn't take and I had an infection. Well, a couple of weeks ago, I was so damned excited about 'the big game' that on Friday I decided to knock off a honey-do. I climbed up mu 8 foot step ladder and was cleaning the gutters and that is the last thing I remembered until I woke up in excruciating pain in the hospital. When I fell, I shattered my 4 levels of fusion that had finally worked & fractured my L1 & T 10. I had surgery that night & have had another since. I know none of you on here know me, or anything about me, from Adam, but I am not trying to get on disability nor am I in search of drugs. I LOVE coaching high school football and teaching Sspecial Education. The problem is, I have no feeling in my feet. I can not feel it when they poke them with a needle, nor can I move them. My Dr. said this was good news considering. He says it's a 50/50 chance that I will regain enough felling to walk. I have never heard of anyone paralyzed from the ankle down and I know many of you are thinking the same thing. What has happened, according to the doc, is my spinal cord is intact and undamaged. What has happened is there was nerve damage to the nerves that run to my feet. I humbly ask any of you that would, to PLEASE pray for me to get that movement back.

I just got into my house. Have a hospital bed set up in the living room so I can catch up on watching some football. I have been in a Rehab center this past week and they have been trying to stimulate my nerves as well as teaching me how to walk again. It's been a little tough since I have no use of my left foot and partial use of my right. Yesterday, I was able to walk the length of the rail unassisted!!! That was a HUGE accomplishment to me. Thank ALL of you so much for your prayers and your encouragement while I work through this challenge facing me. I was pretty depressed when I started this thread, but because of prayer and God's grace, I, mentally, feel 100% better. Physically, I am in quite a bit of pain, but like my wife said, "at least your hurting! If your back and legs didn't hurt, the outcome would not look as well.". She is right. So I embrace it, and I actually thank God for it. HE has blessed me and I pray that he blesses each of you because of your kindness. GOD BLESS & GO IRISH!!!

I'm still praying for you.Hard as it sounds, it also sounds like it is very hopeful. After all the other virtues make their appearance, the last one standing before you is Fortitude. May the Holy Spirit wash over you with that one. It will make this happen. God Bless.
