How many more chances does Golson get?

Dude, perfectly said. I held my breath everytime Farve threw the ball. He tried to force things in tighter spots than Robin Hood could hit with an arrow. However, he was trying to make a play. With EG he takes the blame in the media and swear he is working to fix it only to play worse the following game! His fumbles are mind boggling...at this point, how the hell doesn't he have an automatic switch in his head that makes both arms cover the ball when he takes off?!?!

He tries to make the big plays and lead his team to the promise land, yet he neglects simple QB play. Which is where the problems happen. He needs to get back to the basics first and that'll eliminate the mistakes.

I think part of the problem is that he's heard over and over again "you need to be a passer first, not a runner." He's taken that advice to heart a little too much in my opinion, continuing to look for a passing opportunity when it just isn't there and the running lane is. This keeps the ball loosely palmed in his throwing hand rather than tucked for a run.

Exactly right. And he needs to run more. Be decisive when doing so. If you don't have an option open, go.

IF Golson gets to 2 turnovers on Saturday, put in Zaire. Sounds like he got some meaningful reps in practice this week with EG's shoulder issue.

Do you think Malik Zaire can deliver 30 pts a game?

Let me reword your question: "Do you think Everett Golson can deliver 30 pts. a game?"
My answer to my own question: "Yes, 30 for us and 30 for the opposing team."

Sorry if it's been mentioned already:

I think BK really underestimated how much the year off stunted his growth. We've pretty much lived and died with Golson all season long, and that was just too much pressure to put on him considering 1) he didn't play last year 2) he only played 12 games coming into this season.

I don't think he was ready to be "the man" yet due to lack of experience. Defenses can still throw things at him that will confuse him. I think next year he will make another big step forward, and the game will really slow down for him even more.

Neither our QB nor our D was ready this year to take over for us on a consistent basis.

I hate talking about "next year," as it seems like we do every single season, but I really can't wait to see him play next season. I would be shocked if he isn't invited to NYC as a Heisman finalist.

EG needs to grow up! He played better this Saturday even though he still had 2 more turnovers but when Bk is trying to talk to him and he tries to ignore him and walk past him, I think that is disrespectful. With as many turnovers EG has this year, he shouldn't be acting like he doens't have something to learn. IF EG is tired of BK teaching him then stop being dumb with the football! Seems pretty simple to me.

He has all the talent in the world, but if he doesn't squash the turnover bug then it won't happen.

Yeah, thank God he knocked his own fumble out of bounds + that TD by Fuller was a ball thrown up for grabs. He got lucky on Saturday he didn't have more! As excited as I was for his return, EG is a liability.

The TD to fuller was a risky play but the right one... he had 3 receivers in the area and they had 3 DBs in the area. One of his WRs was Robinson, who should be able to win a jump ball against any DB in the country or- at a minimum- knock it down.

The fumble was ugly, but it was god awful blocking too. Ended up costing us the possession, but didn't kill for field position or anything like that.

YUP, sounds like he didn't have anyone open and forced another bad throw. You say it was the right play?!?! How about throwing the ball through the back of the endzone to play another down? He got lucky!

We lost because we didn't score enough points... EG was FAR from spectacular on Saturday. Stop trying to paint a turd pink...it is still a turd.

I couldn't be more over Golson as our QB right now. Zero vision, zero game awareness, zero progress, and zero accuracy. He has fumbles, but that's about it.

He looks like he is over playing at this point. Get Zaire in. Now.

Agree. I'm over Golson, and pretty much anyone and anything associated with the unmitigated disaster known as the 2014 Notre Dame Football team.

No offense, but I'd be fine if we never saw him take a snap as the starter again. He's had his chance. I hope Malik takes the reigns and never looks back.

Yup. Can't agree more. Haven't really seen Golson try to pick up the team when things were at their worst. He should be helping coach up Malik right now if he was a leader. I think he's shown to be selfish and all about "me" when things are at their worst and when he comes off the sidelines after a mistake.

Pray that we saw that LAST game Golson ever takes a snap as a ND QB. Damn he's terrible!

My guess is Kelly will announce it will be a QB competition going into training camp, and that Zaire will come out on top as the starter.

I wonder what Lafuer would want? Gotta think Malik is way more coach-able than Golson, considering Golson's literally not gotten any better and possibly worse with experience.

If you're Golson, and you think you lost the starter spot, do you leave and take a shot at the NFL?

Zaire seems more coach-able from a personality standpoint as well. Zaire seemed willing to listen to Kelly's advice as he came off the sideline, while Golson would walk right past Kelly as he was talking to him.

If Golson has such a hard time holding onto the ball at the college level, no NFL team will take a chance that he wont be a fumbling machine at the NFL level.

Wan't he like the 8th QB listed last week on the big board? Not that its great, but if he won't be starting, and already has academic miscues, it may be an option worth giving a thought.

9th I think. That amounts to 5th through 7th round.
