6-6, that was our record I first started lurking around IE, Weis was in his final year, the program was in turmoil, and people were unsure of the future of Notre Dame football. Its crazy to think of how far we've come in just 4 years. Its been one hell of a ride, and no matter what happens tomorrow night, lets just remember where this program was a few years ago, and how promising the future looks! GO IRISH BEAT BAMA

It's amazing how far we have come in 1 year. I remember last year we wondering if Gunner was coming or If Davonte Neal would commit to us...also wondering if Everett Golson would be able take over after a bad performance offensively against FSU. I am so proud of this team and the future looks so much brighter than a year ago! Go Irish!!

I was here as a lurker at that time too. It's been a long, fun journey.

i do wonder whats going through the heads of all those kids who turned us down or transfered. I did give a chuckle whenever i saw a former ND prospect playing during bowl season

Five years ago we were 3-9.

Jesus.

Many of us (this guy), watched every game that season. Was that really 5 years already? The pain of mediocrity actually goes back much further. I hoped for a chance at the NC in 2013 or 2014. Screw that, take it now!!!

I think the worst part was reading article after article about how Notre Dame would never be good again. The academic requirements were too tough, the weather was too cold in SB, the Irish couldn't recruit with SC, ect, ect. I think the program is back and will be making appearances regularly in the NC game. But you never really know when you're going to get another title shot. I hope our boys make the best of it tomorrow.

Even though we didnt have the greatest records in the past, i still loved watching nd football. I cant help but think how great we could of been with kelly or diaco back then. We had some really great players.

It feels like a decade since that travesty occurred. It is truly amazing how far we have come in such a short time. I have never had a chance in my lifetime to watch our IRISH play for a title, so tomorrow has been a long time coming. I honestly don't even know what to think or how to feel. I have the worst possible butterflies you could imagine.
Come tomorrow, the Echoes are going to be blaring.
GO IRISH

...2007, oh dear lord. I used to throw a comment at Aaron Taylor now and again at his Legends site...but I think he just imploded after that year, and couldn't take it anymore...or he got a full-time broadcasting gig that allowed him to keep his sanity.

After that I found this place...to help me make sense of the mediocrity...its been, at times, a crazy roller coaster. But even if we sucked today, I'd still watch them, and I'd still come here and b!tch about it...:)

...Psst...but since we don't Suck...

WooHooo...This is Awesome...

i cant find the thread to save my life, but at some point after the Tulsa game there was a thread about where ND football was headed, and more than a few people saw ND heading the way of Ivy League football, crazy to think of how low morale was back then

I didn't know we would be competing for a national title in 2012.

The way the team finished 2010, I knew then we were going to be alright. I knew after the USC game that this staff was different than previous ones.

I've said bulls__t to that crap forever. I've always felt it was just one bad coaching hire after another and Swarbrick has made me look kind of smart! lol

I was at the first ND-Bama game as a recent grad. My fondest hope for our current students and young alums is that you get to experience tonight the elation I felt that night in New Orleans 39 years ago. Go Irish!
