I mean if there's a massive COVID outbreak and we face their scout team than maybe.
Kidding aside, they’re sending players home over Christmas so anything is possible.

The Irish have an above average DL. That's a start. Get creative with the pressure packages, tell the corners they're on their own, keep everything in front of you, and don't let Bama's OL get in the second level blocking for the run. Get a few timely turnovers, score TD's when you get in the red zone, and slow the game down on offense. It's a tall task but that's why you play them. Now, enough of the negative talk and tee it up.
Saban: we have 24 days to prepare for Clemson
Assistants: Sir, we are playing Notre Dame
Saban: I know......
Honestly, the best strategy would be practice a hurry up offense the next two weeks, and run it the whole game. It would most likely be a catastrophic failure, but its really all they can try.

As much as we stunk last night and as much as it sucks getting waxed in big games (minus our win against Clemson during the season) our program is miles ahead of where a lot of other programs are.
As ugly as Ian Book plays he has the most wins of ANY quarterback at Notre Dame. As many ugly wins as Brian Kelly has....he is almost the all time winning coach at Notre Dame (pardon me if he has surpassed it already).
What the the HECK more do some of you want? lol
Want to go back to George O'Leary errrrrrr Tyrone Willingham/Bob Davie/Charlie Weiss years?
Ugh!!! I need a fat joint now.

I would make it the most physical days of practice all year. I don’t see how else you could go about it. If guys get hurt or dinged up so be it. If you can’t tackle or tackle the way we have the last couple games you have no shot anyway
100% this. I feel like NDs bowl prep is kid gloves compared to other programs. They seem to always look like they havent done live drills for awhile.

So, re-watching the Bama Florida game. Bama's O is a match up nightmare. They are extremely well balanced between the run and the pass. They have the players to go empty set 5 wide, two tight ends with a single back, you name it it looks like they can do it and they do it well. They even went Power I and did a fullback dive.
On the bright side you don’t have to deal with the QB run like you would playing Clemson. Jones can scramble but he is not a threat on the ground like Lawrence.

With all the kids having the option of coming back next year use this as prep for the 2021 season.
I want us to triple team DeVonta Smith so that way I don't have to get a Bleacher Report push notification saying
"DeVonta Smith has 6 catches for 187 yards and 2 Touchdowns... and it's the 1st quarter "
