Brohm's buyout is pretty steep per the Lafayette Journal & Courier.

Oops, saw someone posted the numbers after I responded.

Supposedly, neither Gundy or Brohm have an agent. From what I've gathered, most agents are recommending that their clients avoid Tennessee after how they handled the Schiano deal.

I doubt it. He has no incentive to look for a job ASAP since his buyout is guaranteed.

I'd do a TV gig for a while to build back up rapport with the nation, or just sit out for a bit and wait for a better job. Coaching at Purdue sounds awful.

Only 10 of ~130 college coaches are at their Alma Matter. I feel like we as fans always think that's where they want to go, but it's not often the case.

Why? They have been upgrading their facilities and the old AD that was a penny pincher is gone. It's a B1G school so it's a major conference.

They bat 3rd in their own state for recruiting, and a state that's not even a good state for recruiting. And they can't recruit nationally. They have little to no history. Then you do play a B1G schedule, that you can never win in.

It's the elephant grave yard of CFB.

Shade... you lucky dog looks like I'm trending depending on which tweet you believe.

If it does go down, I'd CB Sumlin to Purdue immediately if not for the ASU gig.

Mitch Daniels is gonna have to open up the checkbook a lil bit more to get Sumlin and as a rule... Mitch don't like spending.

Mitch will spend if it will make him money. That's the dude the Republicans need to convince to run for Prez.

I've mentioned my distaste for Val fans and how they seem to have such a huge thing for ND even though there is no real history or rivalry there. So as this has gone down I've kind of smiled inwardly over it but I'm serious, I'm starting to feel bad for them. As vile as they've been to us over the years this sucks hard for them...

My wife and I went to ND/Tenn games home and away. There fans were friendly and hospitable. They may be delusional about the state of their program, but that's a different story.

I'm not saying Clay Travis's source is wrong, but I certainly wouldn't trust any source from the University of Tennessee denying it at this point either. There is far more incentive for the administration to lie in this case. They look like total idiots.

LOL at UT.

Agreed. You'd be dumb not to lie at this point... You got to double-triple down at this point.

The whole thing is a mess and hard to believe. What AD would make an offer that hadn't already been approved by the chancellor?

They all look like idiots, Clay Travis, the fans, the AD, the Haslams, the school administration, etc.

EDIT: Plus Clay Travis is most likely stirring the pot here.

You need to quit making things up and do some homework before making a statement like that. It wasn't that long ago that Tiller and Brees were going toe to toe with OSU and scUM. The top two all time passing leaders are from Purdue. Over the years, Purdue has typically recruited Indiana better than IU has. Their football history is much richer than IU's.

Purdue has been crappy because of the crappy hires since Tiller retired, but Brohm has shown how quickly Purdue can get back to being a good program. Not elite, but good enough to play above .500.

Regarding Doeren, say he would be the UT coach, what happens with P. Wilson?

Not sure how “National” this class is but it looks like they have verbals by kids from 9 different states.

At this rate, Tennessee will simply have to rehire Butch Jones at 8.4 million a year for 6 years.

0-5 on facts in your last post.

What the hell are you guys talking about?

They've had one season above .500 in the last 5 years. Said otherwise, can't win in the big ten...

Their recruiting is terrible. ND and Indiana have finished above Purdue in the 247 team rankings in EACH of the past 5 years. Said otherwise, they bat 3rd in their own state...

They only have 2-3 star recruits this year, when their coach was actually good. They haven't had a 4-star recruit since 2013...

Their head coach is trying to leave them for a team who's AD is on the hot seat.
