No one saw Parker talk pre-snap, and no one saw Gino or Rudolph with a playsheet.

But you know who did have a playsheet on his arm? Sam Hartman. Player-Coach like you read about.

Didn't know where to share this but with the offense not living up to expectations this year one thing that I found interesting is the amount of guys who scored a Touchdown this year. The Starting QB, all running backs, all tight ends, and all receivers who saw the field with the exception of Salerno and James(who had like 10-15 combined snaps) scored. Just thought that was a little silver lining. Talk about "spreading the wealth" in a sense...

Tyree
Thomas
Colzie
Merriweather
Greathouse
Flores
Faison
Sherwood
Evans
Staes
Raridon
Flanagan
Ford
Estime
Price
Payne
Love

I don't know if we'll ever truly find out who was "calling plays," but it was clear from the very beginning that someone else besides Parker had a hand in the gameplan. The pre-snap motion was night and day.
And I don’t recall the broadcast showing the press box outside of the one time; even that seemed to go quickly.

Really beginning to feel like Sampson and OMalley are too close with the staff. The amount of water they've carried this year is beginning to irritate me. Yes, they've occasionally taken issue with Parker, but Sampson's tweet (above) is worthless w/o context. What is the breakdown of Home vs Away? What is the breakdown of offensive output against good defenses? ND padded stats this year against really bad defenses. Throwing a tweet out there speaking on how this is a historic output for ND is very much a validation for Parker. Whether Pete is directly proposing that or not is irrelevant. The way it will be taken is that he is suggesting this offense was great and everyone knows that it was far from it when it mattered the most.

our offense thrived vs average and bad defenses because Hartman directed them, and other games like usc and pitt our D/ST set us up and scored a good bit.

We averaged 46 ppg our first 4 games, then 18-19ppg our next 3.

I feel like Pete doesn't send those tweets out to validate anything. I believe he does it to generate conversation. I may be off on that, but that's how I take it.

Would have been enough for Brian Ferentz to keep his job.

We've scored a lot of points off TOs and STs creating short fields. I'd love to see this PPG stat adjusted for "full drives," i.e. 70+ yards or so, if that's even a stat out there. I bet you see a different outcome.

Look at USC game as a perfect example. Just a very skewed stat in my opinion, unless I'm very mistaken.

Yup, out of 48 points scored just 2 drives finished with TDs that started on our side of the field. The other drives that started on our side ended up with 5 punts and a FG against that awful D. We had another drive where the defense put us on USC's 14 yard line and we scored a FG. The defense and ST really stepped up to the plate and gave us great field position.

To your point, USC’s defense was historically bad this season and finally got Grinch canned by his best buddy.

But what offense do you think Grinch’s historically bad defense that cost him his job had an uncharacteristically good day against?

That's fair if that's his intent. Is Twitter really a space for "conversation," especially when Pete, himself, rarely chats back and forth with those making comments.

I wondered the exact same thing and forgot to include that in my earlier post. Thanks for adding that in to the conversation.

The WR room this year ended up being young and or injured. It didn't help Hartman, it didn't help Parker, but both had their own issues.

I think a lot is going to hinge on the health and experience of this WR room next year regardless of who the QB and OC are.

This Is a fair analogy. But,... "and I like Big Butts and I cannot Lie..."
It's not representing the facts, and the eye test. (Pete's x)

Just woke up from a coma and saw ND tweets that say we have the best offensive lineman and best RB in college football. Throwing in Sam Hartman and the high hopes for Al Golden’s defense, sounds like potential for an extraordinary season.

I’m not going to check our record and just assume we’re 11-0 and playing Stanford for a shot at the playoffs. There’s no way an OC could possibly screw this up, right?

No suitable like emoji for me to use to show me laughing and crying at the same time.
