Is this an account run by an ND fan who just throws shit out there w/ no true sources? I hope it’s true but I’m dubious.
This tooI want to add that our play action passes also don't imitate our run plays very well.
i'm still puzzled why he wasn't pursued last year before and after the ludwig fiasco. freeman needs to pick up the phone and make the call. moorhead even did a decent job as the head coach at miss st. did a good job at fordham. has done a good job as an oc at pennst and oregon.Joe Moorhead man.
Akron is one of the worse jobs in college football. He was a name rumoured to be floating around last off-season, whether he actually interviewed or not. Akron gave him a extension and raise just not keep him from leaving, but that type of deal is only worth its weight for a single season.
If it’s for the next two games, fine. If it’s for the 2024 season? Yikes.Just going to say this now....Gino G will be the next OC
He has to cut him, he loses all credibility with everyone involved with ND football if he doesn't.a couple short, vague responses I’ve seen by some of the premium outlets make me think Freeman may actually part ways with Parker… nothing specific but more hopeful Freeman will do it than I was yesterday

Because the in-house backup options are likely no better. This is the problem when you have a defensive (young and inexperienced to boot) head coach and little-to-no OC experience on the staff. Why is he still employed as the OC at Notre Dame?
Clearly not.Is Parker even learning? I don't think he is or can. He just doesn't have it.
I do. Question is do we trust the AD/board to back him once he chooses his guy this time?Do we trust MF being able to pick a legit OC if Parker is gone?
^ This is the way. Or at least a way. Better than the current way for sure...In bye week they should give Gino or Rudolph a shot. Can’t be worse. Then stand outside of Lewis’ window with a boombox and beg for forgiveness.
Genuinely feel bad for the bait and switch ND pulled on this guy.And we wonder why Hartman seems to have checked out.
Yea, he’s got a fucking zombie for an OC.
I am once again asking why he's still employed as the OC at Notre Dame?
Demotion. He's a good TE coach. Unfortunately this means someone who likely doesn't deserve to be fired will be fired instead to make way for a legit OC. Likely Gino since OC/QB combos are most common. He has to cut him, he loses all credibility with everyone involved with ND football if he doesn't.
I don't care tbh, I want him gone. I know that's irrational, I know that's immature, but it's how I feel.Because the in-house backup options are likely no better. This is the problem when you have a defensive (young and inexperienced to boot) head coach and little-to-no OC experience on the staff.

No better options on staff sadly.

I mean if akron zippy the boxing kangaroo 🦘 doesn’t humble your ass then your head fuckedMoorhead is notoriously difficult to work with. He is a great OC and I hope MF has a phone call with him. But he is a prickly guy and that is one of the reasons his career has always been a bit stillborn. He is also not going to recruit worth a damn.
What intrigues me about Moorhead, though, is that he has failed as a HC. If you're looking for an Al Golden equivalent on offense, someone that is experienced and talented and likely to stick around awhile, Moorhead looks pretty good.
I want him gone, too. I just know it's not happening mid-season the reasons I posted.I don't care tbh, I want him gone. I know that's irrational, I know that's immature, but it's how I feel.
agree on all points. i thought he would do better at state, but you could see his lack of recruiting starting to show in his first cycle. coaching has never been his problem. he's definitely the type oc freeman needs. someone to just handle that entire side of the ball and we actually need that more than a guy like golden at dc.Moorhead is notoriously difficult to work with. Yup, only way to make this work would be to give him some lateral "promotion" like "Associate Head Coach". You can't just move him back to TE coach. You can’t keep Parker at this point. He is only option is to be gone.
Have you all ever worked somewhere and the boss was demoted and kept? That doesn’t work it creates hard feeling and there will be issues.
I think it all depends on what was discussed between him and Freeman at the time of the promotion. If it was presented as a season-long tryout then it's easier to pull off a demotion. If Freeman had to convince him to take the job (highly doubt it) then I could understand having to leave. You can’t keep Parker at this point. He is only option is to be gone.

Why not just start sifting through OCs who run top 40-50 offenses here and come up with a target list. There are some good ones here and would rather hire someone up and coming, experienced and hungry vs. jaded long-time coaches who would be kind of taking a step back...

Sure, if Parker's job is to coach TE and get the real OC his coffee.I want one more yr of Parker with a co-oc
Circle the wagons Parker!!!
Yes, this was a quick list, now you vet it and start taking coaches off the list for reasons like this. I also would add that the OC candidate better be flexible… ND likely has different personnel so do what’s best for what you have and don’t be stuck on one way of running the ODan Enos was at Arkansas this season and was fired half way through the season.
