Keep your friends close, but your enemies closer. SAS probably gets paid a pretty penny to talk crap about ND on live TV from his boss and ESPN. Just keep pushing the “leave no doubt” mentality.
I'm curious what this clown had to say to the team that made it worth bringing him in. That said, I still like the move by MF. You wanna talk your shit about how we're irrelevant? Come see us.

To be fair, this guy has ND/OSU in the semi-final as a more or less a toss up but gives OSU a 51/49 nod...

This would be a pretty cool scenario, knocking out Ole Miss in the Quarterfinal round and beating Miami (again!) in the semis.

And then, beating The Longhorns in the CFP Championship game, where Carr would seal his higher first round NFL draft pick over Arch.

Of course perpetual ND-hater (right up there with Cam Newton) is hating on ("selling" ND), but he is specific that he's selling ND on being in the CFP Championship game, not that the team won't be good and in the CFP field.

Also, with all the teams chickening out these days to play tough OOC games, and with B1G and SEC having such large conferences, you get plenty of perennial CFP contenders / top teams likely to have a so so schedule, as we called out last year.

Now, D-bag Danny does have a point that the team better not let the prevailing sentiment by a lot of prognosticators that ND will either be in the championship game or actually win it get into their heads this season; and actually, BYU, SMU, and Miami pretty late in the season (11/7) kind of doesn't solidly support his hypothesis IMO.

And 'bama had a tough schedule during the season and still tanked in the playoffs, so the part about being battle tested doesn't mean shit. The CFP (especially if it expands to a 16- or even a 24- team field) actually represents a 2nd season and a 2nd life where a team with 2 losses, even close to the end of the season, could, with a few weeks rest and being on a roll in the CFP, like OSU in 2024, could win it all.

Bud Elliott makes a good point about our set of WRs and is there even one of them who can be THE guy who becomes Carr's go to, bail-out receiver, who strikes fear in the opponent. Hopefully 1-2 such receivers will emerge during the season.

But this just amounts to Danny trying to get clicks and his perennial ND hating.

Seems a reasonable take for an outsider to have. We simply need to stop even considering all this crap and wade our way through the schedule as we know we can. We need to prove it, that's all. Kanell nor anyone not playing, has anything to do with actual football. As far as I can tell, none of our coaches nor players are psychos who give one damm about media. ... I have a GREAT feeling about our team; even believing that Carr is so good that he'll make WRs better-than-they-are and our offense will be plenty good. No one's really scoring on us anyway. And "battle-tested"? Our defense is PLENTY battle-tested. But an outsider knows nothing but ink marks on paper, which amounts to squat.

You guys gotta understand. It’s all about selling the newspapers. Think of old-school wrestling or even today’s meeting. It’s all about stirring cramp up to get clicks. I bet you most these guys in private like ND both the entertainment narrative to say stuff to stirrup. It’s all part of the dramafest to get more clicks.

Pate got a lot of traction for his ND takes, so now you will see the contrarian takes to profit off that market. None of these guys really know much about individual teams (how could they, even guys covering teams 24/7 don't know everything). It's clicks and hits, that's how they make their money.

“South Bend, Indiana, ranked as the least dirty city overall,”

They need to start using this for recruiting. lol

I had a crew scheduled to power wash the walks at one the more well known buildings in downtown South Bend this spring. My foreman called me to tell me that they weren’t able to do the job due to a small homeless encampment that had defecated on the access lid to the water turn on.

Attention economy 🤮 I’d strongly encourage everyone to take up any other hobby other than following the offseason BS.

Would be the equivalent of Ames, Iowa's drinking water.

For those of you who have no idea of what I'm talking about/aren't Dan Wetzel fans, here you go:
