Not that worried about Miami as a team. They were severely overrated last year. They lost all their ranked games and 3 of their last 4. I'm more worried about the heat/humidity, but if the team is prepared like they were for College Station then the Hurricanes don't stand a chance.

The refs also bailed them out at the last minute on two of their wins from what I recall.

This may be a hot take, but I would love it if ND would actually just play these teams in their home stadiums. Neutral site games are bland and it’s lame that we get to miss out on watching other team’s home traditions and atmospheres. It’s what makes college football special.

I very much understand it could be the opponent relocating these games to stadiums with larger capacity, but it’s still lame.

Wake has the smallest stadium in all of BCS.

Definitely would prefer to play the games on campus, but we are recruiting Charlotte very heavy as of late. Also played in winston-salem in 2011+2018, so not like we're robbing them of a once in a lifetime opportunity to see ND at their place.

Yeah, I was really looking forward to seeing Wake Forest's traditions!

Also the smallest student body in FBS. It’s a private school, I’m not sure where their alums tend to live. I recall a fair number of empty seats last time we played there. Maybe they’ve got a fan base in Charlotte?

Either way, it doesn’t really matter. We play too many road games in boring NFL stadiums. College football should be on college campuses.

gonna see a lot of it. these small athletic depts need money and ND fans are a cash cow so the bigger stadium these teams can find the better for them financially

Bingo. Why would Wake turn that money down when they're likely to be one of the biggest "losers" of the ACC finagling to get bigger matchups with ND?

Georgia Tech moved our game last year to a neutral site. Really was unfortunate, especially considering that GT has 50,000+ capacity stadium. And it’s the oldest on-campus stadium in the FBS
Yes, but Bobby Dodd is far from a great environment (speaking as a husband of a Tech grad).

Dukes Mayo got bought out by an east coast venture capital group. They are looking to grow the brand in the North. We will see if ND does this for them. Anyone for a hot dog with mayo?

Where are you all buying your ND gear now? Seems Fanatics has a strangle hold over the gear and it's not great. Dicks, Rally House and Homefield seem to be the hold outs from Fanatics full take over

So, someone spent a lot of money to buy a regional mayonnaise brand and wants to expand their geographic footprint. They sponsor a game in Charlotte, buy out Wake's home game in some form (sorry, hotels and bars of Winston-Salem), sell 2x the tickets as they otherwise could and give us some visibility in a prime recruiting zone, not to mention a year's supply of mayonnaise for the winning coach. All to sell a random condiment no one is asking for. America. Fuck yeah.
