I rewatch this game pretty frequently. This was the first true "big game" win in my lifetime. Started watching ND football in '01 and it was just years of mediocrity. Losing to USC so often, can't beat LSU or OSU in BCS games, you name it.

Seeing them march into Norman and soundly beat a top 10 opponent was a thing of beauty. A sigh of relief.

Pretty close to the same thing here, just remember parts here and there of the 90s but I was too young. BK really turned it around for ND

Little surprised no one from the beat has put out much on summer work outs. Usually we get some tidbits here and there. Only thing i have seen was that Malachi Fields came in looking like an NFL receiver. Wondering if they got word to not report on anything this year?

Ian Book is back in town and has been working with the WRs while he trains.
So - our WRs should be locked into some crisp intermediate routes.

If this is correct about Drayk Bowen, we win the championship. Three first team AAs plus an AA DBackfield totally, the best RBs (multiple) in the country and probably one of if not the best and deepest OLines. Damm this team has pieces. Should be really fun to watch, especially if you like Defense and Running Backs and Big Boy Football. (which I do.)

I've never been less nervous about a Notre Dame season because we've seen the process with Freeman and company. Whether this year, next year, 27 or beyond, as long as this leadership is around, the team will be competitive. And not just Brian Kelly competitive but title competitive. The team is stacked and will continue to be stacked and the coaching staff is elite. What is there to be nervous about?

Maybe the fact we haven't won a national championship in 37 years. Yeah it's been 37 years. That's why we are nervous.

I think Rairdon will be at like 300-400 yards this year, I think Jack Larsen and Flaningan are gonna have a big impact tho

Because our QB will likely be savvy accurate and our WRs and RBs generally good to excellent receivers, my hopes for our TEs are that we have TWO of them who can understand the BLOCKING game and really bring it there. I believe that we have enough receiving threat that a solid warrior type like Brock Wright would be great for us. Wright blocks people's feet off the ground, and when the play calls for him, he sneaks out and catches the ball. I don't know, however, if we have anyone as good or even close in our TE room at the whole TE game. It is the offensive position I worry most about this year --- a sentence hardly ever written before.

I'm not worried about Raridon's ability whatsoever. He's shown flashes of his athleticism, his only problem has been staying healthy. If he can get over that hurdle that's plagued him, I think he can have a big year.

Nothing we haven't heard or read before but it literally comes down to CJ Carr's development. They might have to win some ugly games in September (@Miami, TA&M, @Arkansas) in the meat of our schedule as he progresses, but if he can ascend by November/December this team really doesn't have a glaring weakness.

Best way to help a young QB? Running the football effectively. They are set up to do that very well.
