Forget it, no use to engage you all
You should try harder on engagement, it helps produce results. I'm trying to get some agreed upon goal posts since you claimed I'd move them. I just want to know what performance is required. Or what promotion would signify he is a good coordinator. Any sort of verifiable metrics so we can have an ongoing discussion for whatever duration Rees is calling the plays in South Bend.

Not disagreeing with the point of your post, but if I remember correctly, it was the other way around. Jack was much more inclined to hire Freeman once he had confirmation that Rees would stay. (Which is a just as huge of a compliment to Rees.)

If I'm wrong and Freeman did say that, that's nice but I don't believe him lol. Freeman would've walked barefoot on glass to get the ND job. His next best option would've been what, Duke? Or the Cincinnati job once we hired Fickell away from them?
I'd have to go back and check. I seemed to recall the two individuals that were required to help drive Freeman into the big chair were Balis and Rees. For continuity purposes I thought Freeman and the team all wanted those two guys at the very least. For Freeman it was to avoid a full rebuild of the staff, and it was two people that he and the players trusted. It was also about the culture, Balis being the biggest contributor there.

This is interesting.

Has there ever been a Chinese QB that started for a P5/major football program before?

Timmy Chang is the only other Chinese Qb I can think of.

Why do I get the feeling that Matt Freeman was insinuating everyone had Korean ancestry…

Yeah, I'm pretty sure Freeman (Matt) started off by saying TB12 was Korean.

Chinese descent, but some remember Matt Freeman initially claiming Korean. Not sure if this is a Mandela Effect moment for us, but I seem to remember the same.
Yeah, Matt Freeman has definitely posted stuff on Twitter in the past about Buchner with a Korean flag emoji.... I suppose it could be that Freeman is saying brotherly Asian love? But that's really stretching it.

it was Mina Kimes, Pablo Torres etc on ESPN who initially presumed Tyler was Korean (along with Kyle Hamilton) but Matt corrected them on Twitter

To be clear, it's good natured teasing of Matt since he's been pumping up everyone of East Asian descent on the team ever since Yoon stepped on campus lol.

You're just trolling, dude. Don't sugar coat it.
I was proven right again. You were wrong, admit it. Do you believe if Tommy had come out guns a blazing I would not have been attacked by you and your bootlicker pals?

The trolling is whatever, but it would be a real show of good faith by you and others to simply admit that there's no excuse for the offense looking this bad, and the guy in charge of it bears substantial responsibility for that.
Rees absolutely bears some responsibility for it, I don't deny it. The Sophomores he recruited are the only ones balling out right now though, aside from Mayer. Jury is still out on Buchner, of course, but pretty hard to grade these QBs when they're running for their lives. The interior of the line is a lot of upperclassmen that are lost and getting beat by Marshall players. Lenzy is a bust, he does nothing for this offense. We've got Styles at WR now and that's it, another Sophomore. Hopefully we get Colzie back soon, and Merriweather can see the field. There's a lot of problems on offense, but it all starts up front in the trenches first and foremost.

The problems with this offense extend beyond the OC, as I outlined above. He's not helping the situation, but nobody is going to run an efficient offense until the OL gets fixed first.

Excuses. You avoided answering my statement. You would have flogged me. I have watch you work since you have arrived.

The OL is a real mess, no doubt. But it's possible to miss the forest for the trees with that line of rhetoric. He's ultimately the one responsible for the offense, and he's had enough time to get a better looking product than that on the field.

You don't know me  Don't create some kind of hypothetical scenario like you do. I've got better things to do with my time than gloat when someone is wrong.

If we’re going to give Freeman a pass on this year, then the admin has to give him a one year pass on the transfer portal to fill in some gaps on offense. Get a proven WR and QB. Get an edge rusher or two and a safety.

Even if CJ reclassifies, ND needs a stop gap at QB. I really like Buchner but outside the poor play, he’s made of glass.

I like Styles, Colzie, Thomas, and Merriweather, and hopefully the incoming freshman class sticks. But we can’t count on any freshman stepping up. Absolutely imperative to get at least one good receiver in there and then maybe a depth type of transfer.

Is Buchner made of glass or was he creamed on every drop back pass last week and then made to run the ball 13 times yesterday. That's a lot of contact.
