See, I don't believe he manages the game consistently well. Not throwing INT's isn't the only way to gauge how well he's managing the game. Taking unnecessary sacks, missing easy completions, not attempting the big throws or refusing to throw certain passes, etc. All of that is a part of managing the offense and he struggles to consistently do those things. Backing up S's is an important part of managing the offense. Getting 3 or 4 yards on a check down versus 2-3 yard sack, is part of managing the offense. Throwing routes on time so players have a chance for after the catch is part of managing the offense. At this point in his career, he's not calling the offense and has virtually no pre-snap responsibilities. Not throwing picks is a crazy low bar for a 5th year Senior.
I would much rather Book have 3 or 4 INT's on the season, if it meant his yards/avg was consistently 8.5+ with more games pushing or over 10+. If the offense is close to midfield and S's are being aggressive in the run game, take the damn shot 30-40 yards downfield. Refusing to back up S's because of refusal to throw those passes, also has consequences over the course of a game.
60% comp pct isn't really that good. Never having a game, against those defenses, over 65% comp pct is a serious problem. Again, if he was pushing some limits of really good to elite status more often, and his down games for still good then I don't think we are talking about this. But, he's putting too few really good games together and some of his bad performances aren't starting QB worthy.
