Got down to like 20 last night here in ATL. Still drove down to the gas station in shorts...

Back in Indy, they even canceled my mom's radiation therapy today. She is more than happy to stay home.

That's what auto start and heated seats are for brother. i was in the weather for less than 90 secs to and from. And that's no reason to get arctic dressed for. I did leave the flip flops at home though.

I actually like to cook in Crocs, Mario Batali style.

I've got a pair of orange ones, but not sure if they are Batali orange. Might be more TN Vol orange.... Along with off white tannish, and faux fur lined black. And then several flip flop crocs.

Still -15 degrees here. Even my dog doesn't screw around like he normally does when I let him out to go take care of business. When it was still "up" around 16, I had to stand there and wait for him to finish.

He goes crazy if he doesn't go for one walk a day but yesterday he went down by the mailbox, peed on some other's dog pee in the snow, turned around and came back inside.

-21 feels like -48 up here at the Illinois/Wisconsin line.

I let my guys take the day off. Won't reopen until noon Thursday.
Of course I made Saturday mandatory.
heh heh

-4 here in Cleveburg. Have the thermostat set for 70 and the furnace will not stop running.

Is it true that if you throw a pot of boiling water into the air...it will turn to snow before it hits the ground? Inquiring minds (my daughters) want to know.

Hot water freezes faster than cold water, fewer gases or something like that. A guy I know in Granger did this and most of it evaporated before it hit the ground, the rest crystallized.

I used my remote start this morning. I'm no fool.

I am! I have this exchange too often:

Older person: "Oh, aren't you cold in shorts?!?! You'll freeze."
Me: "If I was cold, I wouldn't be in shorts..."

But you knuckleheads still put on sweatshirts or jackets. Why is that?

I’ll be in Glendale all week with family starting Monday. Looking forward to getting out of this blowing snow. -25 wind chill in mid-Michigan with about a foot+ of snow on the ground.

Keep the core temp warm! I've shoveled with just the Tee on before.

So you are cold!

No biggie when you're active and creating body heat. I can work up a sweat using my snow blower, so if the wind isn't bad I'll just wear a sweatshirt, but I'll wear gloves and a hat. My momma didn't raise no fool.

One of my daughters in law always wears sandals, regardless of the temps, snow, etc. I bet she has shoes on today.

I wouldn't so much say that as, the wind can be pretty bad (I know, I know, that makes you cold). But in all seriousness, my legs just don't feel it at all, and if the wind isn't blowing, I'm not really bothered by the temps outside much up to a certain point.

Can't do gloves, honestly make my fingers colder, and mittens just don't work when you're active shoveling and such.

28 on the celsius where I am (NSW Australia). We are getting some 45degree days though so its not all great.

Are these temperature over there going to effect recruiting?
If it is cold such that you have to be indoors everywhere (Cal, Atlanta etc) then you might as well be in South Bend right?

Gotta get better mittens. I shovel with fleece-lined deerhide. Very flexible, very warm, not expensive.

Staying 2.5 miles away from there at a place on the Arrowhead Country Club.

Interesting name... We will have to try it out.

Did it during the 2014 polar vortex. Also worked with hot chocolate except you got a brown cloud.

Word of warning for anyone trying it later, throw it away from you and downwind. There were too many stories of people throwing it straight up or into the wind and some part of it that is still liquid coming back and burning the person.
