Be thankful we are net exporters of refined products with more oil supply in our hemisphere than we can refine. This is the value of energy independence - rake in massive profits when the rest of the world lights itself on fire. "Our idiot" was laughed at by Germany a decade ago when he warned them of their energy dependence on Russia. Good luck staying warm this winter Gunter.

Now is not the time for export restrictions. Refining is a brutally cyclical business. Unlimited downside but capped upside is a great way to destroy an industry. Greenie weenies have been bad enough attacking refining capacity for years. Let them cook.
