Whether he plays or not, I really hope he has learned his lesson, this is bigger than football. Having said that I really hopes he plays this year.

Who's making the announcment Kelly or the school? I thought the school doesn't make this kind of announcment, so wouldn't it have to be by Kelly? And if that were the case is this part of a regularly scheduled news conference after practice or a special one...cause if its a special one he's done.

Do any of the current or former students of ND have a copy of the Res Life Policies concerning this type of behavior that they are able to share? And are the penalities the same for all students, regardless of what sport/activity they participate in (I assume they are).

"b. Second offense: If a student is determined to have violated this policy and it is a second offense as described above, the Office of Residence Life and Housing will:

1. Separate the student from the University for at least one academic semester.

2. Require the student to participate in an alcohol assessment with an appropriate assessment agency and comply with any and all recommendations of that agency prior to seeking readmission to the University.

3. Require that the student permanently forfeit all University vehicle registration and campus
driving/parking privileges."

Read into it as you will. It is kinda subjective (is it his first or second offense, would the one semester be spring or summer vs fall, etc)

Even if it was good news, they would still have to announce it eventually. I am going to stay optimistic.

Floyd was also seen watching the pro day with Manti and Crist. I would think that he has a good idea of what will be happening, and I imagine that he wouldnt be laughing and joking around if he thought that he was about to be kicked off the team.

At least... that's what I keep telling myself.

Yeah... not sure if that's entirely true. They didn't set an announcement time for Kyle or Will. BUT, as Epitome just clarified without listing any source, apparently he meant decision not announcement... which considering the ResLife meeting set for today was cancelled, makes perfect sense. So I will share in your optimism until I hear otherwise :)

When I read 'announcement' I took that as a press release/press conference.

I think I would start sobbing if I were to hear, "Coach Kelly will be addressing the Michael Floyd situation today at 4pm" on ESPN.

Uncontrollable sobbing.

Thanks! Exactly what I was looking for. I guess the real question now is if it is the first or second offense and if they consider "offenses away from ND.
