yeah it'll kinda be like floyd decided to forego his senior year and enter the nfl draft anyway... except not.

We were supposed to be without him anyways...were you predicting an 8 win season before he decided to come back?

For however long he is gone, it is definitely a major blow, but this gives the team PLENTY of time to adjust to life without him, and besides that, BK's offense (given a good QB) turns lesser-rated athletes into studs all the time.

And more importantly, the defense is still in tact with the addition of several potential studs and a whole year in the same system that produced 4 stellar performances to close the year. All the coaches are back, and the kids are in one of the top strength and conditioning programs in the country.

So, while this loss blows and it completely pisses me off, no way in hell am I calling for an 8 win season. This team can still win 10 games, no doubt in my mind. If by the South Florida game, no receiver has stepped up and the offense looks pedestrian and the defense looks like the 2009 defense, then sure, 8 wins will be the ceiling. But until then, I still have complete faith in this team and these coaches...

.19 is pretty high, but pretty sure you arent blacked out. Probably like 12 beers and 4 shots for someone his size. Anyway, just saying.


With regards to 1st vs 2nd offense, I will make the case that the violation did not occur on campus therefore wouldnt be a breaking of the campus intoxication policy and then combine that with the fact that Underage is a summary offense, not a misdemeanor (like DUI) (I think).

So basically underage, no cuffs (usually), no ride to jail (if your over 18-i think), get a ticket and go on your way.

Anyway, if there are any criminal justice or law majors- please correct me. Also, i didnt read into detail the entire intoxication policy.

I made a ton of assumptions and am hoping I am right. Still being optimistic and holding to the 4 game suspension.

Yea...this puts us in a funk out of the gate. And Michael, apparently his work ethic also applies to drinkin' .19 is...Wow...thats some drinkin'...no way he didn't know he was hammered...

I can see no way for Mike to play, even if this is technically a first offense, its a bad one. In addition, as others have mentioned...its a second offense to Kelly and the team, no matter where the first one happened.

...I think I'll lock my door, open up the bottom drawer, and get myself to a .19 now (working in the home office today...no driving necessary).

2011...Kelly is going to get his shot at "Manufacturing" Points for sure. Lets hope for a breakout year for one of these kids at QB, and no injuries on D.

The team can still win 10 games just how MSU had no business winning 11 games last year but still did it. Unless our defense is legitimately a top 5 squad capable of dominating the opposition, 8 or 9 wins is a very probable scenario. With Floyd I think 10 or 11 wins is a good prediction. Sorry, just being a realist. Losing the top player in the country at his position is worth at least a couple points a game and probably a couple Ws.
