From listening to the coaches comments I kind if feel like it is Dayne's position to lose at QB. Also it definitely sounds like either Golson or Hendrix will definitely see some situational playing time running the option.

Tommy, while a winner, doesn't have Dayne's natural ability. Most likely, Hendrix is the only one close on ability. Add in Dayne's maturity, inside and outside of football, and one would certainly think he's the front runner. He's a great kid with a cannon arm. He's had an extra year in the system, and if his rehab progresses, he's the favorite. I think we'll see Hendrix sprinkled in with the option because he looks like the successor to Dayne, in my opinion. Now I don't want to write off Reese, because the kid is a winner, but it's just how I see it playing out. I, of course, reserve the right to be completely wrong.

Went through and watch some more of the video (extremely bored at work), and what really stands out to me on the D-line is how huge these guys have gotten. Ethan and KLM look great, better than they did last season. The one who really sticks out to me though is Kona, he looks enormous now. Someone had noted he put on 60 pounds since he showed up freshmen year, and it really shows. He is going to be the key on the D-line this year, and is going to see a ton of playing time at both Ethan and KLM's spots.

Yes. They all look in tremendous shape.

Some loose speculation: a]. we need an outside linebacker to replace Neal, and an inside linebacker to replace Smith, to go along with Te'o and Fleming; b]. Kelly praises Spond and Shembo after the opening practice; c]. Spond is listed on the spring roster as an outside linebacker; Shembo is listed on the Spring roster as an INSIDE linebacker (yeh, I know, but look it up); d]. connect the dots.

Shembo is a pretty big boy, and with the eventual move of Smith inside, they may realize they want that kind of versatility which Prince provides next to Te'o. Last year we had the problem of Carlo who was great in run defense, coupled with Anthony McDonald who was great in pass coverage. Since neither was great in both, they are looking at a big OLB like Shembo who can do it all to pair with Te'o. It also helps with the blitz because Shembo is such a good pass rusher. Just a thought...

Don't forget Spond also played ILB last year before he got injured.

Additional video of Lynch, Ishaq, and Golson.

These kids look like they have unlimited potential.

Kelly and Co. will be able to groom these kids into studs.

Watching the defensive drills totally got me pumped up(even while at work). Usually while at work I can keep my emotions in check, but man, that is exciting to see.

Aaron Lynch has alot more bulk than I thought. I thought he was a skinny kid, but seeing him in that clip (while he is taking a knee, while 2 coaches come up and talk to him) that dude is like Shembo, he looks like a football player. WOW.

Hard not to watch Golson and think of the possibilities for him in this offense(in years to come, not this year). Think present day oregon's offense, ran by a QB that wants to pick you apart with his passing...and will kill you with his running.

We need to start recruiting some of those guys from the swamp who catch gators. That's my big take away from that video.

I feel like Lynch could wrangle a gator or two, i hope he gets a chance in this years Sugar Bowl. On a side note, Golson is freaky fast, but it looks like itll be Tommy vs Dayne for the starting job, someone else said it looked like Rees bulked up a bit, we need that, mentally, he is practically a junior, i think if we get him jacked up he can be more than just a consistent QB, but a QB that changes games.

^bob diaco has to wear out of date clothes to water himself down for the rest of us. If he wore his actual clothes, we would be blinded by excellence

That implies that whatever he wears wouldn't be perfect by association, which diminishes the impact and power of the Diaco. I'm just running with what you jokers started.

correction, after speaking with a neurologist ive learned that what we see is just our brains' feeble attempt to understand the awesomeness of Bob Diaco. this is known selective-skitzophenetic-Diacosytosis. next.

That video is really awesome. Ishaq looks like he needs to put on some weight but looks good. Aaron seems to be ready to play IMO and golson might need a smaller helmet. Either way im super stoked

I think I have a man crush on Diaco, I just love listening to him talk.

Make that 2 of us, the man could move mountains with those beautiful words that come out of his mouth. That might have been a tad homosexual but who cares haha

Golson looks extremely raw but the tools are there. He needs to bulk up a little bit. I wouldn't be shocked to see him sit out this year.
