Congo's goalkeeper played off his ass. England deserved to win. Kane's first goal probably should have been saved. Pickford should have had the Congo goal, too. Nobody was getting Kane's second goal. Absolutely brilliant strike.

Kane, Messi, Mbappe, Haaland, Vini, Dembele. The big stars seem to have been delivering so far.

For me not being a soccer fan, this has been so freaking awesome to watch.....I am hooked...The crowds, action and the big names coming up big have made this unreal...I'm watching games on my phone at work...can't believe i just typed that
That was me during the 2014 World Cup.

Pick a Premier League team to support and keep watching!

Hope Belgium can claw back here… I know US beat this Senegal team but they look really, really good
Long way to go.

Speaking of Senegal, judging by what we've seen in this World Cup, the next AFCON tournament is going to be off the chain. And it's going to be in summer too, not in winter to interrupt club play. Sign me up.

Africa is slowly starting to creep up on Europe and South America. You've got the United States building things up. Young talent everywhere. The game should be strong going forward.

I’ve been thinking the same. Some countries have had blimps of success, some consistent but Africa seems loaded with young talent, not to mention all the players that could be playing for these countries that are playing for France, Netherlands etc.

Not as much DR Congo but Morocco, Senegal etc - is this the result of years of academy, infrastructure being built in these countries paying off?

Morocco i doubt it... i think one of the broadcasts mentioned only one or two of their players grew up there

Senegal, many of the players played in French academies since they can claim French citizenship being a former French colony.

Idk how sustainable a team like Morocco’s success is because ultimately they’re taking all borderline players from Netherlands, Belgium, France, and Spain with a few exceptions like Hakimi being a big get.

I think Senegal’s set up is actually the perfect recipe for an AFCON team. They have a strong base of homegrown and trained talent like Mane and Sarr to name a couple. Senegal has Generation Foot which is an academy like Right to Dream in Ghana. Big exporter of talent to Europe. At quick glance 14 of their 26 were actually born in Senegal. And then they can enhance the squad with those players that are just a tier below the best national team in the world (France) right now? Senegal should be here to stay

Isn’t tonight the knock out round? Win or go home? Why does Bet365 have odds on a tie?
