Looks like Mason Mount will be off to United. First big English move of the summer. Think Ten Hag can get him back to his best; he'll replace Eriksen in the preferred XI.
I'm thinking him, Ramos as a striker (Levy won't let Kane leave, maybe we get him on a free next year or Madrid pay out the ass for him this year with Benzema flirting with the Saudi league for $200 mil a year), Diogo Costa (who would replace De Gea), Rabiot on a free and maybe Timber this summer. Offloading Maguire, McTominay (huge for FFP, pure profit), Henderson, and other dead weight would be an amazing window.

Hopefully the club sells shortly after Saturday.

Mount is another guy that really should be getting out of Chelsea as fast as he can.

Declan Rice likely on the move, James Maddison could also be moving along as Leicester got the drop. Then there is Jude Bellingham.

A lot of movement in the Three Lions midfield. Could be the same for the USMNT as well. Each summer seems bigger and bigger one after the next.

Rice to Arsenal was picking up steam. Then Bayern inquired.

Also, any idea where Messi goes? He has to go back to Barca, right?

I sorta wonder if some of these bigger clubs are just bringing in Americans who are in over their head with the hopes that if the kid pans out, (insert Big Club) will grow in market share in the US.
I can definitely speak to that...I have twin 14 year old boys who are competitive football players (soccer...ugh). The clubs have been trying to grow their presence in the states by 1) establishing residence academies 2) summer camps in various cities around the country. In Chicago, we dont really have a European club with a residence academy here so we have done all the camps here. Many of the clubs are partnering with 3rd party marketing companies to put on these camps which allows them to 1) get some revenue 2) ID some kids. My boys have done Barcelona, Real Madrid, Juventus and Dutch Soccer School camps. They were selected to train at the 1st 3 with the boys training in Barcelona, Real Madrid and most recently because of how they performed in Spain were selected to go to England this past April (West Ham and Man City). We saw certain kids get IDd and then interviewed for potential spots. Boys were supposed to go to Juventus in March but too close to England.

I know this summer my boys are signed up again for Real Madrid camp Juventus, and PSG joined in the camp circuit this year.

Its definitely a big push and our local club competes for talent with the MLS Next factories that charge crazy amounts of money. The reputation of the US talent is definitely growing and I do see in 10 years a huge shift in recruiting.

I just don't see him going anywhere else in Europe. I don't think he'd follow Ronaldo to the Saudi league, and I don't think he's ready for MLS (still too good).
I think he'll go to the Saudi Pro League, but I honestly don't really care anymore. I'll likely see him live if he comes to MLS as I've seen so many others (Henry, Pirlo, Beckham, Gerrard, Lampard), but he's got his World Cup now and I've moved on as a neutral fan.

the days of former top guys going to MLS is over i think, there will never be another Beckham, Henry, Gerrard, Lampard going there. The money in the middle east is too great now. MLS should focus on being a developmental league

Looks like Benzema is gone to the Saudi league:

I wonder if they'll go after Kane and if Levy would let him leave to a non English club (or if Kane wants to leave England).

i cant see Levy surviving a sale of Kane to another EPL team, its Bayern or Real or staying at spurs probably

If this year, it's definitely Madrid (possibly Bayern, but I see Madrid). I think the big thing here is Kane. Does he want a shot at the EPL goal scoring record? If so, then he waits a year and makes a domestic move on a free. If he doesn't care about it, then Levy should obviously take the money.

My guess is he stays at Spurs and leaves on the free.

he will probably stay at spurs and sign a new contract. he does not seem like a cultured guy who would thrive abroad. he's a beans on toast type of person

Spurs and Real have a relationship that goes back to the Modric and Bale sales.

Spurs can't get anyone to manage the club so suffice to say selling Kane before he walks for nothing might make more sense than keeping him. He scored 30 goals in the Premier League this past season. Benzema had 30 goals in all comps.

Bayern winning the title again glosses over a lot of issues they have on the pitch, off the pitch and in their boot room. I don't know if Kane would want to go walking into that when he's going to have a very young midfield and pair of wingers getting him service in Real.

He can go to Spain, score 40 goals a season in La Liga, play for Don Carlo and actually win a trophy, maybe have a fucking steak every now and again. I doubt he has to attend the opera ever.

Or he can stay with Spurs into his thirties where no one wants to be manager and never win a trophy.

Watched Celtic win the Treble on Saturday. Postecoglu is nuts if he goes to Tottenham, but that's just me.

USMNT U20 match yesterday against Uruguay was extremely disappointing.

Jesse Marsch now being linked to USMNT, Monaco and Celtic. Possible return to Celtic for Brendan Rodgers as well.

I don't know what Marsch can do for Celtic with them coming off of another Treble. All he can truly do there is get them into the Champions League knockout stage for any "improvement".

It's hard to decide if I feel him or am laughing at him,..... I'm really not sure if there is a rivalry in sports I wish would just go away totally more than the Manchester garbage. Both clubs are absolute pillars of shit IMO.

Ange to Tottenham looks done. Brendan back to Celtic then? Or Potter.

If I'm Celtic, I'm asking some very serious questions of Potter during the interview process. I really want to know what actually makes that guy tick down in the crust of him. I think he sold out hardcore by going to Chelsea. I'm sure he cashed in, but he really didn't do his homework by leaving Brighton and jumping into that mess. The new owner is a few bricks shy of a load.

Maldini out at Milan apparently. Club and Azzurri legend. This seems significant. Wonder what went down...

Sucks Ange is leaving but I get it. It’s life changing money there. I don’t think many casuals understand how different the money is today from the handful of big time money leagues vs everywhere else. Ange pulled something off in Scotland I don’t think anyone else in my lifetime has. He brought a totally foreign perspective to Scotland, held to it and had it work. He pushed aside the cynical and very physical, muck it up, Scottish philosophy and stuck with his up tempo, attacking all the time, J League eastern philosophy and won big on it. I don’t think casuals know how bad things looked for Celtic when he came in. Many thought we’d win nothing for a few years and he rebuilt it all in two months. As a Scot I can attest that we are a stubborn people who resist change to a fault and I wonder if any team,… Aberdeen, Hibs, Hearts,… any of the other ‘big’ clubs in Scotland would roll with it and go for a younger name from off the grid like Ange or as to see if their philosophy might be able to nic a title or two from the Old Firm.

On Brendan Rodgers coming back,… it’s safe enough but I’d have preferred a fresh start. I have little doubt he’ll keep trophies coming in tho.

As a Spurs fan I am fairly pleased he is coming to Tottenham. He wasn’t my first choice but that attacking up-tempo style has me super hyped.
