Rangers are like 1-2-7 or some obscene number in their last ten matches with fans in the stands,… Celtic also seem to not be f’ing around with this new manager,… could be a short reprieve for the Queen’s henchmen

Just realized Messi and Ramos are now on the same team.

Liverpool Football Club have extended Virgil Van Dijk to 2025.

Trent, Fabinho, Allison, Virgil all get new deals. Seems that there is a certain Egyptian King who should be next on the list.

Saw UEFA is planning to implement a salary cap ( no more than 70% of revenue) in 2022. PSG gonna be in trouble then.

Them and a few others.

Barca fell into a trap. A trap set by Chelsea, City and PSG. Barca did things a certain way and it worked for them, but they decided to do things differently and now they're screwed.

It's as much their fault as anyone's, but the pressure and temptation to go out and spend spend spend was there. They bought in and now they're in serious trouble.

For those of you who are PL fans, is it worth it to pay for Peacock? Between the PL and the uneasy feeling that NBC is going to push more than just Toledo to their platform, I'm debating on just getting it.

Or just do what Man City did and have a subsidiary of you ownership group pay way over market value for some sponsorship rights.

Depends, are you a super fan of one of the teams? If not then probably not as the only Americans to follow are Pulisic and sporadic appearances by Sargent and Steffens. Bundesliga is probably the best league for causal fans, as it has the most Americans and outside of Bayern it is the most competitive across the board.

If you're a fan of one of the top 6 or 7 EPL clubs, it's probably not worth it. You'll see 30-32 of the games on NBC or NBCSN. I made a business decision to cancel this off-season since I tended to skip Spurs-Burnley or Spurs-West Brom to spend more time with family.

If you're a fan of a team below the top 7, yeah it's probably worth it. I'd imagine for the Crystal Palace's and Brighton's of the league close to half the games are on Peacock.

Eventually, they will start moving bigger games to Peacock which they've only done so far very, vary rarely. Then it'll be worth it for everyone.

John Brooks also had an assist today, and 18 year old Joe Scally really impressed in his debut against Bayern Munich yesterday for Monchengladbach. Look forward to following Konrad De La Fuentes tomorrow In his game.

No draws in the Premier League for first week.

Incredibly pleased with Liverpool's result. No Hendo, Robbo or Thiago in the squad.

Great to see supporters back in the stands. Welcome back, Brentford. Long time coming.

Brentford really did well. Arsenal is screwed this year.

I think its going to be Man Utd. They showed it against Leeds

In Italy, it's going to be exciting. Juventus is no longer lock-on favorites. Atalanta and Inter are decent enough. And maybe Mourinho can work his magic on Roma.

As much as I want it to be Man U, I think they need to show this consistently. That's been their issue the past few years. They will show out against some teams, then lose to Crystal Palace or something.

I don't think Manchester United are going to go the distance with their current manager. The squad is better on paper and that should help them mitigate his shortcomings but the deeper they get into a run as mathematical contenders, I wouldn't put money on them having the mental fortitude to handle the pressure required to maintain a title run. Too many guys on that squad run hot and cold. Pogba played well against Leeds but was that because he knows there is time left in the transfer window?

I get the sense Chelsea is going to focus on the Premier League this year after having won Europe. I still think there are some vulnerabilities in the back for them but they obviously have a strong squad. When things go bad, does Little Putin sack Tuchel? That's the history with Chelsea. This wasn't the first time they sacked a manager and the replacement won Europe. DiMatteo was gone the following season when things got rocky.

Citah is very good despite the unusual claims from pundits that they "need" a striker and there is any kind of underdog factor. It's nonsense. They're going to compete for all four trophies again with or without Harry Kane. I think Spurs are more fun to watch without Kane and I think Jesus is a fine player. That's just me, though.

Pundits are writing off Liverpool despite them having a healthy squad and being able to play in front of crowds. I've seen them picked as low as 4th or 5th and no higher than second. Hoe kee doke. They bought Konate at the start of the summer and otherwise have not been buying people in the transfer window, so I can understand how they're being overlooked. Works fine for me.

Don't know where Napoli comes into the the picture. Maybe 4th and the dark horse to those three? If Inter are liquidating again all bets are off. Losing Lukaku hurts.

AC Milan and Roma should push for top four but I don't think they are title contenders. I would also assume that Mourinho loses that locker room by the end of the season.

Jota is a goddamned killer. Most underrated purchase I can remember. Straight baller. I fully expect VVD and Konate to be partners and Matip and Gomez as backups. Bobby better stay sharp or he will lose his spot or at least be forced into rotational duty at minimum. Any way I agree let them be underrated.

It came from nowhere, which is why I think we still may see an incoming player before this window closes. Others have come from nowhere too. Michael Edwards keeps the business end tidy. Not many legit leaks. Like a good White House.

I think they paid more for Jota than they did Salah. If that is correct, the most underrated purcahse ever is a no brainer. Salah is still underrated by pundits and even within the Liverpool fanbase. If he were English (or a white European guy) playing in London or Manchester he'd be hyped more. They need to sign him to a new contract and keep him for the rest of his prime years.

I'm not too worried about Bobby. He runs the opposition ragged for 60 minutes, then Jota comes in for the last 30 and scores on whatever legs they have left. Jota just makes the front three a front four, and they are clearly a bonafide front four now because Jota is absolutely the goods. Jota is also a left winger first by trade so he shouldn't be expected to do what Bobby does because few really can anyway. He'll get there. Still, Jota does have that energy where he runs around without the ball relentlessly and puts pressure on the opposition. He's 24 and should be with the club for years to come.

Bobby is also going to be playing in front of crowds again, and he's a showman who enjoys those atmospheres be it home or away. Hence there is no goal like a Bobby goal and Covid really sucked playing in front of empty seats.

Jota's agent reps most of the Portuguese players. Neto, Neves, Sanches....yes, please.

I already mentioned, no team in the Premier benefited from a single transfer than Chelsea did with Lukaku. Their leading league scorer last year was Jorginho with 7(!) goals. In all comps, Timo and Tammy had a combined 12. Id put Chelsea as the favorite, with United just behind them. Don’t rule out Liverpool either, who ended last year on a hell of a run, and were the prior season champs almost breaking 100 points. I’m thinking (and hoping) that this is the first time City finishes outside the top two since 16-17.

Celtic FC has looked real good after a strong string of transfers, with more on the way. Furuhashi has been absolutely stellar so far, if he keeps it up he could be jumping to a top 5 league next year. 2-0 win agains AZ Alkmaar today until he first leg of the Europa Playoff. I really feel like they can advance past group stage this year if they hold it together in the 2nd leg next week.

Liverpool have reportedly made contact with Jeremy Doku's representatives. Klopp has been eyeing him for a while. Strong performance in the Euros this past summer on the big stage. Right winger who can also play on the left. Asking price reportedly opens at $50M.

He's 19 years old and the asking price is within the realm of reason. Hoping this deal gets done.

Apparently Man U is readying to bid $75M for Camavinga as well from Rennes. Would be good business for them.

They definitely need a better CDM, but I think they need to get rid of a few players before they get anyone else this window. Pereira and Lingard have to get sold and get off the books to help fund CDM at that price.

Puma dropped the ball with their third kits for Citah, PSV, AC Milan, Marseille, Dortmund, and Monchengladbach:

Straight from reddit with some translations:

The new PSV third kit and some comments

1st comment: not really a fan of these types of kits. The logo should always be included IMO

2nd comment: ugly

3rd comment: will there be a fourth kit to make up for this?

Personally, I think it straight up sucks too. Since I have some time on my hands, I decided to check out the IGs of the other teams that were presented with the same line of third kits. Here's a little summary:

Man City fans are not happy either

Neither are AC Milan fans

1st comment: It looks like a fake shirt you win at the fair. (someone help me with this translation)

2nd comment: shit

3rd comment: but what is this, pyjamas you buy at the supermarket?

Marseille fans react as well

1st comment: scandalous

2nd comment: it looks like a décathlon t-shirt

3rd comment: puma go eat your dead (apparently it's an expression, thanks u/Alarow!)

BMG fans also don't want to see their team in these kits.

1st comment: I first thought this was a normal t-shirt

2nd comment: unfortunately, pure disappointment

3rd comment: A jersey without diamond (BMG logo) on the chest is really the worst thing ( translation credit u/Andi_Ommsen)

Finally, I checked out the pumafootball IG, whose admin was very proud to present the new kits. Again, people are not happy.

Yeah they messed up big time with this release
