Looks like Dembele is moving to Lyon for 25 mil... It'd be okay with it if I figured they'd spend even a few mil of that on CBs and any kind of replacement for MD. The last four years or so have been living on the edge depth wise and now their is one true striker on the the roster...

My philly union are currently probably playing our best soccer, ever. Got a chance to win the us open cup and are surging towards a home playoff game. Gotta find a way to keep dockal past his loan

So for like the fifth straight Euro match (honestly I think it's like the fifth straight one) Rangers fans clash with police in the streets and cause havoc in and around the stadium. British media refers to them over and over and over as, "Scottish soccer fans" not 'Ranger fans'. Meaning almost all the reports are "Scottish soccer fans clashed with police again"... "Scottish soccer fans bring mayhem with them yet again." That kind of stuff... Last week (during the fourth said riot) Rangers brass even stated openly that it's all caused by Celtic fans turning up at Ranger games and pretending to be Ranger fans and then just breaking shit... lolol. Okay, Celtic fans can be SUPER tinfoil hat types. Full disclosure they can be way over the top with it. Everything is a grand conspiracy against them,... but this one even gets me. Celtic get fines and leveled major penalties for one guy making a random gesture or for one supporter group putting out a banner. Rangers have now ducked ANY penalty from anyone for a long succession of violence by their fans and a large portion of the British media refuses to call them Ranger fans... it's pretty surreal.

Those Chelsea fans are always causing trouble at Sevco games.

Rangers were flying high just a few weeks ago with Stevie G and such, massive enthusiasm and hope... Life comes at you fast, just a few weeks later and they have now recorded their worst start in 30 years.

That was pretty ridiculous.

That Joe Gomez lad was excellent on Saturday. Andrew Robertson is very good, too. He was just named Scotland's captain.

Liverpool could be the team that keeps winning despite not being in top form. It's usually how clubs win a title.

Massive test on the road against Spurs after an international break.

US beat those dirty mexicans tonight 1-0, USA! USA! USA!

Love it. There were people on Twitter last night bashing Miazga for his mocking of height. Basically saying something along the lines of, "Of course an American is making fun of height, like that matters in soccer." "Americans now using heightism against the Mexicans" etc. I just had to laugh. So these people are mad that Miazga insulted a player who came at him, which good on Miazga it was hilarious, but not Mexico and the slur chant their fans have?

Also, last time I checked, height is generally important as a CB to, you know, head the ball away...

I love soccer it's obviously my favorite sport but I can't stand that a loud minority of the talking heads are super SJWs that like to make everything political. Saaw a few bluecheck marks say it was done because of Trump and other political BS too. Just insanity.

Miazga was playing mind games. It worked. In the next minute a Mexican player got a red card. We need some edge to the rivalry. Glad Miazga showed some fight rather than bow over like too many of our players have in the last couple years.

I agree to all above. We don't need to "stoop to their level" but we do need to be nasty back. Play those mind games, be cocky, get them agitated. Too often USMNT has looked soft. Need to put a little football in our soccer. Not dirty, but physical.

Yeah, this, the game has always had political factions in Europe and such (I'm a Celtic fan so yeah, I'm more than aware) but here in the states it sure feels like as soccer has exploded it has attracted the hyper politically angry, hipsters, and SJW types en masse... I hope that dies out and they find somewhere else to congregate soon. I suggest they meet up at Chipotle, rage against the machine there while they spend daddy's money on shitty burritos.

Changing speeds, there is uproar in Scotland today over Hampden Park, the home of the National Team. It's outdated and many want a new updated stadium. Rumors are coming out today that an investment team is ready to buy the stadium, raze it and build a new, updated grounds on the site. Here is where the reality of the smaller European countries hits hard and why I am even sharing this. The reported acquisition fee of the entire stadium and grounds is ~5 million pounds... that's less than 7 million dollars.... for the NATIONAL STADIUM. Compare that to the money it takes to buy and build stadiums out here... talk about another world financially.

See: Wembley

Or any modern stadium built in any country with money these days...

I saw Wembley in person last October... reminded me totally of University of Phoenix Stadium with how out of place with it's surroundings it felt.

lol yeah the surrounding area is pretty shit. wait til you ever see Parc de France in Paris. The area around St. Dennis is about as run down as you can imagine with zero places to eat or drink around it.

Spurs bottled it. Liverpool with a super entertaining match- as per usual. Pulisic with an opportunistic goal, McKinnie with the start.

Solid day.

Bobby Firmino is some player. Their entire front three does the work, Liverpool. Salah isn't quite in top form yet. Imagine.

This weekend, have to assume Klopp rests some regulars at home against Southampton. League Cup row next week vs Chelsea, then on the road to Chelsea for the League match.

Neymar is tremendously overrated. Hype with a poodle hairdo.

MBappe received one of Klopp's famous post match opposing player hugs. He gave Neymar a handshake.

Spurs didn't buy any new players this summer. I fear that will cost them.

Messi gets a hat trick against PSV Eindhoven because...it's Messi and PSV Eindhoven?

Glad to see the two American boys did well in their matches.
