Roma should have received 2 penalties in this first half... so sick of the officials giving everything to Barca. Every single year.

There is so much just absurd inequities in Euro soccer currently it's hard to take anything too serious...

I can't help but view the liver-bird/city match-up as anything other than deciding who who will be publicly sacrificed/massacred in the next round to the Mainland Europe soccer gods...

Pool and City are both capable. Though as a Bayern guy, can't unsee what happens to Pep in semifinals hahaha

Greg's tweet in particular...what was with that lame midfield? Gundogan, De Bruyne, Silva, AND Fernandinho? His goal just to play keep away from Pool or something?

Swear Pep can't help himself sometimes. Drove me nuts at Bayern. Tinkers too much. Ride the horse that got you there.

I've never seen a coach so consistently out-smart himself before.

I'll never forgive him for what he did to Bayern. Team primed for a beautiful window of European dominance, only for him to Pep it up in three consecutive semifinals.

Two rules in football...

1. The game lasts about 90 minutes
2. At the end.. the Germans win.

... He changed the rules.

1. The game lasts 90 minutes
2. The Germans lose in the semifinals to a Spanish team.

Roma supposedly has one of the best goalkeepers in the world, but nobody can withstand having to defend shots on goal from both teams on the pitch. Too much to ask of anyone.

City's bus got trashed before the match. Their back four got trashed during it. Hard to know which was worse, but considering what they paid for those guys in the back, I'm guessing the bus was cheaper. On top of that, "the most exciting team in Europe" had zero shots on goal? Karius could have live Tweeted he had so little to do.

This Liverpool attack is terrifying to anyone. I don't care who they play. Clearly the energy at Anfield will have to be dealt with should they advance forward to the semifinals, but if those two young fullbacks keep playing like this I don't see how even the most casual football fan can say they don't have at least a puncher's chance against Barca, Real or Bayern.

They are (or maybe were) underdogs to City and cut through them last night like piss through snow in the first half. Then, and if you've been paying attention there is no way you saw this coming, they defended for 45 minutes when they had to and kept a clean sheet. Nobody would have predicted 3-0 with zero shots on goal. Aguero or not.

Next year, Liverpool will have Naby Keita in the midfield. Perhaps Jorginho with him. Have fun with that. I'm sure others will go out and spend as well, but yikes.

This Oxlaide Chamberlain kid wasn't good enough for Arsenal?

There are some great sights in sports on both sides of the Atlantic, but for me there aren't many better than a triggered Pep Guardiola.

I do genuinely believe City, if Pep doesn't Pep, will score at least 3 next match vs Liverpool. The problem is, will Liverpool score? City would have to win by at least 4 goals if Liverpool scores once.

Welcome to being a fan of a Guardiola team sans Messi.

Liverpool scores once on Tuesday, City is going to need five. Possibly without Aguero. Both Liverpool and City have crosstown derbies this weekend.

Yesterday was the third time these two clubs have met this season, but only the first with Virgil van Dijk on the pitch. I'd be curious to see City, or anyone else, score 3-5 times on Liverpool if van Dijk is fully fit.

Score that many.... without Pool hitting back on the other end too.

Pool will hit them at least once I'm guessing and go through.

yup. No away goal by City is killer. 3-1 is not an awful away result for a team like City. But 3-0 is all but a kill shot.

From my "I honestly don't give a shit about liverbird or some oil company club team" perspective I can see City completely flipping it on Liverpool in Manchester. Obviously bird has the advantage but I wouldn't say this is over...
