Sucks that Celtic is atop the fourth group, by a lot too... if they had just held on against Malmo or Maribor they'd have probably passed Mönchengladbach into the third grouping... oh well.

It would be hard to see Celtic and BVB drawn in the same group... I'd want both to do well.

I absolutely hate the buy back BS.

Oh yeah? I kind of like it. From the selling club's perspective, it's like a loan with real consequences for the player if he doesn't produce. Or, to put it differently, it avoids the problem of a loanee player selling himself and his own development short by giving less than 100% because he has less than full incentive to become fully invested in the success of the loanee club.

Anyway, Klopp made recent comments about that's why he likes them, and why he thought the sales of Ibe and Brad Smith to Bournemouth with buy-back clauses were good business.

Actually might be able to play against us anyway, not sure if there is something in his loan contract that says that he can't play against us. Also, just my opinion, but I have a hard time seeing us selling Roberts before Pep has a look at him, especially considering he would be considered homegrown. In addition, I haven't heard any rumblings on any city boards that we are considering selling Roberts.

Edit: Roberts is eligible to face City per UEFA rules

Celtic were 50/50 for the hardest or the easiest group stage there.... They got the hardest....

From the SPFL news feed... I don't think ours is the hardest group, but still... It's been a while since Celtic got even an average group... the days of the 09 Europa draw seem very far away.
