Not a fan of some of the personalities on this US team (okay mainly Hope Solo) but gotta love the talent they have. Unfortunately, I think Jill Ellis is holding them back.

Is she maybe sitting on a yellow card? That is the only reason I can think of. I prefer her to Morgan, tbh.

Compared to what NFL players and MLB players do, Hope Solo's domestic violence incident is pretty mild. As a country, we've come to accept some pretty outrageous behavior by athletes and entertainers. College athletes get away with far worse. Think Taylor Lewan and Jameis Winston for just two. I'm not condoning Hope Solo's behavior, but other athletes have gotten away with far worse.

Regarding tonight's game, Rapinoe and Wambach are a threat on any corner kick. Rapinoe places the ball nicely and gives her teammates an opportunity to score on most of her corner kicks. This team has earned the support of the country. We should be cheering them on. They are very talented. Johnston may be the best of them all.

It goes way beyond the recent stuff though, Solo has been the Terrell Owens of the USWNT for years now...

I am rooting for them all the way.I love watching them play. I understand your points about Lewan and Winston, but at the same time, there is a certain honor in representing one's country. She is not a good representative of the United States. Domestic violence, DUIs, and just an aura of controversy. She is supremely talented. I am not suggesting taking away her ability to play professional soccer. I am suggesting she should have the privilege of playing for her country taken away, though I know that is not going to happen.

I hope my post didn't seem like I am rooting against them. I just see glaring holes in the team.

This game it hasn't been as obvious, but Johnston was the reason Sweden didn't have a goal or two.

Red card. Nice to win the group. Who will they play?

As of now I think they play France, brutal draw for both, but I doubt that stays through tomorrow...

Similar to how the US used Morgan in 2011, they need to use Leroux. Her speed if she comes in around the 65th minute will give tired defenses fits. Nigeria is the only team in this tournament with comparable speed.

Her goal setup in the first game is a perfect example of that, she played all game there but still blew by

I love the English announcer trying to sell the U.S. Open game as some great thing,... ' it's amazing it's in a high school stadium,..." " this is unique to America"... Dude...

This isn't even the real Sounders team playing it is the USL Sounders, and to top it off they just changed jersey(kit) colors half way into the game lol

yeah there's only a few starters like Martins and Neagle.

Last I checked, the Sounders 2 squad was beating RSL... It would be quite odd if Sounders 1 lost to Portland but Sounders 2 beat RSL...
