I have watched NYCFC a few times and came away with the same impression, pretty good for a brand new team...

I'm super excited for Stevie G to join my boys... they definitely could use some help, I know that much... my boy Zardes is really having a hard time... good thing Superman, Omar Gonzalez, is there to save the day as often as he is.........

Gerrard and Keane on the same field will be fun to watch. Galaxy vs NYCFC with Lampard and Villa. Superstar matchup.

haha, I am trying to appeal to the Eurosnobs ;)

You know I like Omar. He has all the tools to be elite. He has the same problem as John Brooks. They both completely dominate 95% of the game. Then they have that one lapse that is either costly or should be costly. Eliminate that, I will never be able to criticize him. He may be the most talented CB and has the most potential of anyone at CB besides Eric Palmer-Brown.

Not saying it is gonna happen, but don't be surprised to see a new name to the national team, but certainly not to MLS, called up the Gold Cup--Osvaldo Alonso. He had 16 caps for Cuba before he defected to the United States and he is now a citizen. Under FIFA rules, he could for political reasons still switch and play for the US. And he would be a total boss. He is literally Jermaine Jones 2.0.

Alonso is a beast... He'd be a huge get... In my minds eye I see his pace and aggression fitting well with Klinsmans style.

Watching the Galaxy game while flipping back and forth with the Angels game... Zardes is really struggling, every touch is too hard and every run ends in dead space... Sucks, he was tons of fun to watch last year,... Right now it's hard to envision him recapturing it, his run has been that bad.

They were for a brief spell in Liverpool. I hoped for the best for Robbie but for some reason, Rafa preferred N'gog over him.

FIFA reminds me of Formula One. The brass are a bunch of egomaniacs with no regard for their fans.

Too funny.

Yes, hilarious.
Bunch of corrupt MFers.

Can't wait to see what is uncovered. Russia and Qatar are dirty as hell. No one in their right mind would put the WC in Qatar. Hell they don't even have a big soccer tradition, and the move to Nov/Dec games just blows my mind. Somebody got rich.

Listening to the presidential speeches now on ESPN. The Jordanian Prince is very well spoken and seems genuine. Anything beats Blatter.

How stupid and or arrogant can the voters be to make such a move... it's really like the mafia or something...

Or like the US voting for Congress. We continue to elect these idiots besides common sense and evidence suggesting otherwise:

"I've been in Congress for 30 years. I know how it works. I promise to keep corruption out of Washington and to snuff it out before it starts. You can trust me. Oh that time I took money from a major pharmaceutical company to vote against a piece of legislature? Nope didn't happen. Not me. I promise."

Anybody watch the US U20 World Cup match the other day? Zelalem was in the team and subbed in during the second half.

I stayed up to watch the whole game. Man they have some stars on that team. A few players like Shaq Moore were extremely disappointing though. Overall, Emo Hyndman will be the next Michael Bradley, Landon Donovan, Clint Dempsey. Whatever role he ends up playing for the US, he will be a star. Same with Rubio Rubin and Maki Tall. They are studs. Zelalem you can tell just has a mind for the game and some serious talent, but he appeared to be working out some kinks. If Matt Miazga can control his emotions, he will be a beast. Same with Cameron Carters Vickers and Eric Palmer Brown. The biggest disappointments to me besides Moore was Acosta and Sonora. Sonora kept giving the ball away. Acosta was defending well, but his timing was quite poor going forward and he was called offsides multiple times. Plus he missed that sitter.

Overall, the talent in this pool is the greatest it has been since the 2007 U20 team that had a lot of players who are regulars in MLS today, including Bradley, Altidore, and Robbie Rodgers.

Great points. For Zelalem in particular, he seemed to be very confident with the ball at his feet. Without the ball, seemed to disappear for periods of the game. Should get better moving without the ball as he matures. He did seem like he has the freedom to move all over the field though.
