I am a Spurs supporter so I will try to not allow my grief take over this rant.

Him leaving for Munich makes absolutely zero sense to me. He will be uprooting his family to a different country, leaving the all time goal scoring record potentially out of reach, with his contract running down in 9 months… For Bayern.

So what do they offer. Obviously silverware, no doubt. But who cares about their domestic league success. Bayern have won the Bundesliga 19 of the last 25 titles including the last 11. They win the Pokal at a 50 percent clip over the same period of time (I could’ve counted titles incorrectly so give us a little +/- there). So a domestic league trophy, meh. Similar to PSG for me.

Maybe he thinks he can win the CL title with them. The current side lacks a top GK, a #6, and other dynamic playmakers. They have reinforced areas a bit but I just don’t see it right now (could be my blinders).

For me, the play should’ve been see the Spurs contract out, bag 25/30 goals, sign a massive sign on bonus with a domestic side, get the record, get some trophies, and solidly your legacy as one of the greatest English players ever.

Hey, maybe Big Ange inspires silverware and you decide to become a one senior club legend. Or maybe you return to England sooner than the four year contract to grab the record. He’s 47 short but assume he runs his Munich contract down, mid 30s to chase 48 goals.. idk.

I am still excited for this season. Ange’s tempo will have us playing sexy football again. 7th position would be good for us this campaign.

This is a Total Failure for never backing the squad by ENIC. Failure by Levy for going windows without bolstering the squad or bargain shopping for players, and the aforementioned reasons for Kane plus three days before Brentford.

The biggest pain for big clubs is finding minutes for young, unproven players. Better to let clubs like Brighton develop these players and see which players can play at a high level. Worth the extra money.
Ok.

One of the first things Newcastle did when they struck gold was hire out of Brighton's front office.

De Zerbi is amazing. How no bigger clubs wanted him is very surprising to me.
Also Caicedo transfer up there as biggest story of the summer.
Hopefully he doesn't go back to Italy because we know how that ends.

Putin invading Ukraine ultimately leads him to Brighton because Graham Potter wanted to go to Chelsea.

Chelsea spending over $200M on two midfielders seems totally on brand regardless of who the owner is.

My brother questions his outlook on life if he thinks Chelsea will be better than Liverpool in the near future.

He wants to live in London like many footballers in their early 20s. That said, Chelsea churn through managers like they're a Serie A mid table club and they're currently a giant mess at the moment. They should not sack Pochettino for at least three years with what he is walking into and is going to have to clean up.

I'd personally head to the Rust Belt to play for Guardiola or Klopp if given the chance, despite those cities not being London. I typically enjoyed winning when I played sports as a kid, though, and never had big city livin' and millions of dollars thrown at me.

Watch Dortmund win a title without Bellingham with Kane at Bayern and Spurs win the League Cup.

I think plenty of people would find this hilarious.

signing for Chelsea in their current state is like signing for a Saudi club. Its the money and nothing else. They are going to be dire as long as Todd is there

From the sounds of everything, Chelsea would have to offload players to get Caicedo in the door, so now they're offering Brighton players as part of a new deal. Liverpool are said to have included a significant sell on clause in their offer to Brighton. Chelsea just managed to convince Levi Colwill to stay and he signed a new deal. They've also cut negotiations with Leeds for Tyler Adams now because any money going to Leeds for Adams would need to be pocketed to get this deal to go through.

Still Choochville FC minus the Russian Oligarch. Absolutely classic.

Caicedo and his agent are really soiling their reputations with how this has been handled in the last 24 hours. Brighton are not at all happy with how they've handled themselves.

Looks like the tweet may have been deleted? But Fabrizio Romano saying the Tyler Adams deal is off for now because of Caicedo.

When do they fire him?
Not sure if you're asking about Allegri or being facetious about De Zerbi lol, but...

Allegri has two more years (including this one) on a ridiculous contract and with Juve not making UCL this year, they can't afford to let him go any sooner than next summer. There is currently a split in mgmt regarding Allegri's status and multiple managers were interviewd to replace him this season (including Tudor and Conte). At the end of the day, an executive decision (see: Elkann/Exor) was made to right the books 1st and foremost and forge ahead with Allegri. That said, if they're out of the Scudetto hunt come winter break, I'd be surprised if they didn't move on then. Also of note -- Juve just hired a new Sporting Director and they typically like to bring in their guys. Rumors of Spalletti currently swirling.

I don't know who the answer is, but Juve needs a builder. Someone who can maximize the talent - do more with less. Conte is a builder but will wear out his welcome quickly. I love De Zerbi, but will he be given ample time to cook? All I know is I'm so over terrorist ball. Appreciate everything Allegri did for this club, but he's a dinosaur who refuses to adapt. Seria A has caught up, Juve needs a change.

If Adams not going to Chelsea is what comes out of this, I'm completely fine with that. Chelsea look like the shit club they are, Caicedo and his agent show their asses to the world, Brighton continues to show everyone they're a proper club with more class than money.

I was asking about De Zerbi.

I want to see Brighton do well, but losing MacAllister and likely Caicedo is going to make it tough.

Ohhhh lol, disregard then. No clue, I really don't follow EPL that closely to know how much of a leash he would be given.

I think De Zerbi would get fired in Italy pretty quickly. I think Brighton would support him and he could stay there for a while.

Graham Potter had a good thing going there. DeZerbi would be wise to stick around for a bit. He's 44 and can hit a big club down the line in time. Too many of these guys jump at the first big club to dangle a bag in their face.

His medical was done already and Chelsea said, "Sorry, thanks anyway."

You'd think that other players, like Caicedo, would see that. Caicedo's agent is trying to cash in for himself. The kid needs a new rep badly after all of this.

yeah and trying to compete in europe will hurt them. they dont have the squad depth now to compete on multiple fronts. I think Ferguson, Mitoma and Enciso are studs but they are so thin now in so many spots

Which begs the question, how serious do you want to take that competition in the end? Especially the squads you send to away games.

Not all that long ago, Europa League absolutely killed Newcastle.

they worked so hard to qualify, they will probably try give it a shot i think. Its usually the teams chasing CL and got Europa League instead and that have the bigger squad that will treat the Europe League as a reserve team comp.

Hmmm,… I actually enjoy Europa more than CL. You get more teams involved in the knockouts and it feels less cynical. My interest in watching Bayern, Real and City play in the semis for the tenth straight year went away 9 years ago,…

RB Salzburg player that plays on the France U20 squad and you can get him for under $20M. Klopp and Pochettino are developers. Sign this guy.

group stage CL is probably the worst product in football
