Exactly, fringe players to build the base. You aren't going to get very many high level players without CL football. They could pick up those three and snag Kaylor Navas, it'd definitely take them out of the relegation zone. Make a splash or two in the summer and they are on their way.

I am still trying to figure out Newcastle's plan here. It doesn't seem like they have one. They're just going from name to name to see who eventually comes.

January is right around the corner.

Hoping they take Ramsey off Juve's books in January.

Exactly the kind of signing we're talking about. Spot on.

Newcastle bringing in Eddie Howe will have a lot of people happy. Eddie is white and English. He'll have the media and neutral public behind him.

He also overspent on players from Liverpool when he was at Bournemouth, and seeing how Newcastle needs fringe players, it's time to get New Money Newcastle on the phone and start the bidding for Divock Origi.

I think they could pull Raheem Sterling away from MC. Dude has been on the bench the whole year

Someone remind me again how much United paid for Wan Bissaka?

It's insane. All of United's defense has looked like hot garbage this season. Maguire was solid last season (even though we overpaid), Wan Bissaka looked good, Shaw was playing about as well as any LB in the world. Now they all look like shit.

Ole should be out, but if they can't find someone to take the job, he'll stay.

Midfield injuries starting to add up for Liverpool. Elliott, Jones, Milner, Keita all out. Fabinho and Thiago have been out recently. Henderson doesn't look right. Ox is a round peg in a square hole.

Couple that with West Ham being a good side and at home, it wasn't in the cards. That fixture worried me for weeks. Both teams looked tired and were just slugging it out. West Ham slugged harder. Credit to them.

Points dropped in 5 of 11 matches. That is not going to cut it in the long term against Chelsea and City. West Ham might be real contenders but I don't know the extent of their depth. Return from International break with Arsenal at Anfield, who are only two points behind Liverpool. Good opportunity to make a "statement", as much as I loathe typing that.

International breaks suck.

For me... Allison was awful. Awful. I'd put almost all of the goals in his court. That and the fact that TAA was in MF the entire game until about 75th minute when he finally started slinging the balls in from out wide. Klopp got his tactics wrong and I think he got a bit too cute. Ox is good just not in Liverpool's side. WH is a huge side and Liverpool struggles with those types of teams. Could have used those points.

Ali did have a bad game, but if anyone is going to have a bad game that I'll let slide, it's him. He has essentially been bailing them out for months going back to last year with all of the injuries. He scored a frigging goal that may as well have saved their season for top four.

The midfield has been horrible with protection

So it comes out last week that Rangers are massively in debt again and now it looks like Slippy is gone to Villa in the coming days... it might just be jelly and ice cream time again bhoys.

Yup, ESPN is reporting the Villa deal is all but done (if not completely done).

This looks weird.

Won the two team league and dethroned Rod Stewart's mighty Celtic, must now move on to the next phase. His Villa deal is supposedly through 2024, same time Klopp's contract ends.

Reports that John Terry could replace Stevie at Rangers.

Frankly, I didn't like seeing so many Liverpool fans supporting Rangers over Celtic. Liverpool and Celtic have too deep of a connection. Was always happy for Stevie, but never went out of my way to "support" Rangers.

Liverpool play in December:

Everton (Rafa)
Aston Villa (Gerrard)
Leicester twice (Rodgers)

It's the Ghosts of Anfield Past Tour.

Anyone watching the USA Mexico game? A lot of action, but these teams both suck. Terrible ball control, poor passing, and no ability to finish on either side.

I’m watching,… my loathing for the other side goes WAY beyond SCum or scUM or any other sports team. I have scars literally all over my body from their trash ass fans, bottles, crowbars, bricks,… all just for daring to not hate this country in this country . Fuck them sideways,… I’ll just leave it at that.

anyway, GB dresses for games like he’s a faculty member trying to fit in undercover at a hipster college coffee bar…

Dos a cero but that felt way different than all the previous US-Mexico matches. The US was on the front foot for the final 2/3 of the game with Mexico really only being a threat in the first half hour or so. In my opinion that was the best I’ve ever seen the USMNT play in a big game.
