I don't think they'll become Champions League mainstays, but in the league, sure.

I don't know about that. While it may be tough to always crack the top 4, I think we can expect them to be a Spurs like squad where they occasionally make the UCL and will always at least make Europe and be competitive. I guess we will see what happens after this year. Year 3 in the EPL will tell us a lot.

European games will add some work. They lost out of the CC & FA Cups pretty early on this year I think. Lot more football to play next season probably.

We have a guy in our office who has become a huge Leicester supporter, choosing them when he wanted a team in England to follow last year (when they were buried in the relegation zone lol - lucky SOB), so we talk about them all the time. I was telling him yesterday that I would punt the Capital One Cup and the FA Cup IMMEDIATELY next year if I were LC. Play the young kids and rest the important players, because next year will be a gauntlet (if they advance of course), especially because they will have a massive target on their backs.

Next year they have to face a league ready to stop them, a Champions League where the stakes are incredibly high and the competition fierce, and perhaps the toughest part of all, they will have to stop the greed, partying, and egos that have ruined scores of successful teams in the past. Should be fascinating.

Well goodness gracious, Madrid down 2-0 on the road at Wolfsburg and Benzema just went off with an injury.

Well they have an away goal that according to "The Guardian" (English News Outlet) "didn't go against the run of play, but was rather a massive affront to it."... will it stand up???

I expected more goals but I still feel pretty confident.

I think it'll go to extra-time at Anfield or Dortmund wins straight up unfortunately.

Come on you red men!

Nice result for the Scousers. Didn't expect that. Can they hold off Dortmund at Anfield?

If only we could play them close like the mighty Scouse... 9th in England.

...with two games in hand on 7th and 8th place teams. Nothing special, but yeah, certainly more to it than that.

If only we had DDG to give us an extra 10-15 points a season.

Everytime Pulisic touches the ball he is threatening. And he is just 17.

I would almost become a Dortmund fan because of him (I like Obama, Mhkitarian, and Reus in the attack too), but if I pick a team because of him and if he turns out to be any good, he will surely leave for Bayern ;)

Actually, Liverpool have been doing really well against top competition under Klopp. Today's result is not really surprising. Our inconsistent play has come from playing to opponents level, which is a residual of the previous manager really(bad habits take some time to cleanse). I expect a very high energy game next thursday, and it would not surprise me at all if Liverpool wins. YNWA! Except for ACrap, he can walk alone...

If only you could attract such a player

Lol, fair enough. But being serious here....

With Klopp I don't see that being an issue. Would you rather go play for Klopp or LVG/Mourinho? Particularly if ManU misses out on UCL this year? Even if Man U continues to get "better" players, Klopp has won a league with a really strong Bayern f'ing Munich in it.

Yeah, this. They've made me very happy with their play against the elite teams. I don't expect them to win the league next year or anything..but Top 4 seems really achievable with a full Klopp preseason and some fat trimming.

It hurts to say it but I'm actually a big fan of Klopp and his style. Love his passion.

I think there is promise with Mourinho, and Champions League is a real possibility if we keep edging out points.

What a great game to watch. Very even game, with both teams having great chances that went begging. Dortmund's GK had to make some De Gea-esque saves to keep it at 1-1. I might even say LFC looked the better side, overall, which is frankly surprising. As a LFC fan, I was preparing for the sort of beatdown Dortmund gave Tottenham in the first leg of the last round. LFC's pressing has just been stifling lately.

Dortmund is still capable of going to Anfield and winning 3-0 though. LFC have to bring every bit of that quality and energy next week, too.

EDIT:
one thing that is annoying me: the press keeps referring to the "precious away goal" LFC scored. Why is it so important? That "precious away goal" only comes into play as a tie-breaker if LFC keeps a clean sheet in the next match, right? I'm not counting on that.
