SC fires Helton.

I know I would if I were Haden. It's SC, you don't have to worry about looking like a heel... they're all heels, they'd applaud such a shifty move.

What if they hire Brian Kelly and Chip Kelly comes to ND? Half serious.

Wouldn't be a bad trade but I would like to stick with the Kelly we have.

On a side note I know we have the personnel to run his offense. If he could find a great defensive coordinator he could rule college football because offense has never been his problem.

Good! He decimated my beloved Eagles and made them nearly unwatchable.

He might sit out a year...have no clue as to where he may go. I doubt it's back to the NFL.

I know. Such a Captain Obvious-esque post.

It is intriguing at least. Seeing what Chip could put together with Luck at the helm.

Not IMO, Luck is a pro style offensive QB. Kelly likes the quick/spread passing game. Plus our roster already has holes we don't need him coming in and making more.

But we could get rid of Grigson. Hmm the possibilities.

Oh, he'd trade Luck for an injury prone linebacker and waive the core of the squad to build the next all ego team.

Because they were impressed with Brian's Red Zone record?

The majority of Brian Kelly's record has been dealing with marginal talent and getting the most out of it. ND has the most talent of any teams he's coaches but they play a tough schedule year in year out.

He's never coached a team with the talent and problems of the USC prima donnas or OSU and looked the other way. Holtz dealt with a couple of prima donnas at ND but when he got to the NFL he was overwhelmed. He said at his Jets exit PC, "I just don't know how to motivate millionaires." It a principal reason why college coaches fail in the NFL and return to college ball.
